1. got 2nd work permit with company 2 , how should your visa change?

2. or add the employer on the old work permit, how should your visa change?

what happen, if you quit company 1? how to change visa? what to do in following conditions?

1. got 2nd work permit with company 2 , how should your visa change to 2nd company?

2. or your work permit 1 is added with company 2 as employer, how should your visa change to 2nd company?

1. If the 2nd company is in the same province as the company 1 you cannot get another work permit. If not in the same province you could get another work permi. No effect on your visa or extension of stay.

2. If in the same province the 2nd company could be added to the work permit with permission of company 1. No effect on a visa or extension of stay.

If you stopped working for company 1company 2 would have to get you a new work permit. If you have a valid visa issued by a embassy or consulate it would remain valid. If on an extension of stay issued by immigration it would have to be changed to employer number 2..

therefore, if I change to company 2,  how to process for new work permit? and if my non-b is a extension from company 1 how to process visa change?

I have been to Immigration offices, but information is very unclear from them, they suggest if wanna change jobs, need to switch the old non-b visa to temporary 21 days non-b from company 1, then get new work permit from company 2, but in the time being, work permit 1 must not be canceled. Once work permit 2 complete, prepare docs to get new non-b visa from company 2  with in the expiration of 21 non-b visa from company 1. All very strange, immigration office suggest now the 7 days stamp for job change no longer valid, which I have been using for past many years for job changes, and such 7 day change is till listed on Thai government labor website.

Company2 would have to apply for your work permit and get a work permit application approval letter.

Then with a termination letter from company 1 stating the date you will not be working for them you would go to immigration on or before that date to have your current extension canceled and apply for a new extension with the work permit application approval letter and supporting documents from company 2.

Then after you have the new extension the existing work permit would be canceled and the new one issued.

Much more clear than immigration office, therefore the 7 day extension for job change is completed dead? cause I see they either prefer us to do this 21 day temp visa job change which could have many problems or prefer us  to get a new non-b from out side the country.

cause the old 7 day change is very clear, once you cancel your old job, u cancel old work permit, and apply for 7 day stay with 1900 bhat, which is not tied to any company, with in 7 days, you can apply for new work and new visa from new company, this is very clear but immigration not accepting this now.

The 7 days is only granted to leave the country after an extension application is denied. They changed the wording of it in the police order that came out in 2014.

They also changed the clauses of the police to include the work permit application approval letter to apply for an extension. Before it only said a work permit was needed.

Thanks so much

let me share some of my info from immigration office, I was planning on job change, it cross two locations, so involving two immigration offices and two labor offices,  I went to all offices many times to ask, but very very confusing

the immigration from company 1 will only stamp the 21 day visa to the exact last date of work, thus can not cancel visa before the last day, and no extra dates left after the last working date.

the labor office from company 1 will not allow the cancel the old work permit before the last date of work, and can not cancel by foreigner.

the labor office from company 2 will issue the new work permit once my visa is changed to 21 days temp visa

the immigration office from company 2 will only issue visa after a complete work permit been issued not the letter from labor.

here goes the problem, since both company are big companies, it takes a long time for signs, etc. and since there is no way of knowing which date the work permit is going to be issued exactly,  there is no way of signing the visa application docs in time.

moreover, say if my temp non-b work change visa is stamped from 10 to 30 April, my last day of work at company 1 is 30 April. so I must remain my non-b visa with company 1 till that date,

but there is time gap for making new work permit and it is unsure how long it takes, say if I apply the new work permit soon after getting temp 21 day visa, for example, at 15 April, and say if I get my  company 2 work permit at 17 April,

the Immigration office at company 2 need me to change to non-b visa at the same day of 17 April

problem is since I am still working at company 1 till 30 April, if I change the visa to company 2, I will be fined by Immigration 1 said very clearly by immigration 1, but if I don't change the visa on 17 April  to immigration 2, I will be fined by immigration 2. either way I will be fined.

therefore there is no way to do a job change without leaving the country now?
