Pedestian hit on Beach Rd.

Featured Replies

Don't see this in the news, but yesterday I saw what looked like a pretty bad accident on Beach Rd. across from Soi Yamato, ironically near that Tourist Information & Safety canopy. Car had hit a pedestrian, big guy in his 50s. He was lying unconscious next to the pavement, pool of blood visible behind his head, car stopped right before him. Looked pretty bad. Cops arrived almost immediately and closed that lane to traffic, causing an immediate traffic jam--so putting the lie to our doomsters claim that the extra lane "makes no difference." So guess we can hope he's recovering or if not we'll no doubt hear about it. I'd say he looked like the kinda guy who could have stumbled out into the street. I've dodged many a pedestrian who didn't look before crossing or just wandered out into the street, probably drunk. At any rate somebody didn't see somebody.

Yes, crossing Beach Rd. is rather dangerous. Yes, cars often go fast, esp in the new lane. No, this isn't a world-class resort. I now turn this thread over to our schoolmarms to talk about safety, rail at City Hall, identify corruptions, and finger point about the non-working stoplights again.
