NAKHON SAWAN: -- A man was arrested at a hospital on Monday night after he was shot while allegedly attempting to rob a money truck in Nakhon Sawan earlier in the day.

Police from Nakhon Sawan’s Taklee Police Station arrested Kittisak Khomkham , 43, at Angthong Hospital at about 9.30pm.

He is accused of attempting to rob the money truck in front of a 7-Eleven shop in Nong Pho-Hang Nam Sakhon in tambon Nong Pho, Talkee district, at about 12.30pm.

Kittisak exchanged gunfire with security officers manning the money truck and was shot in the nose, before fleeing on a motorcycle, alleged Taklee police chief Colonel Thirapong Ritcharoon.

Police found the motorcycle abandoned in a sugarcane plantation.

Police were informed that a rescue foundation was called to pick up an injured man from a townhouse in Angthong’s Muang district and take him to the provincial hospital.

Police went to the hospital and arrested the suspect.
