BANGKOK: -- Government Spokesperson Maj-General Sansern Kaewkamnerd on Tuesday rejected a marketing analysis that indicated that the Prime Minister’s Office ranked the country’s fourth-highest public spending agency in terms of advertising.

Sansern said the office’s advertising budget, said to be Bt129 million for June alone, was incorrect as the report included spending by agencies that were not permanent but which fell under the PM’s Office’s wing.

Budgets for agencies such as the Narcotics Control Board, Thai Health Promotion Foundation, Royal Thai Police, Anti-Money Laundering Office and National Anti-Corruption Commission are allocated independently of the PM’s Office, the spokesperson added.

Sansern acknowledged, however, that he did not know the exact advertising budget of the PM’s Office.

He did not elaborate on who had put the report together.

And they wonder why they have a problem with the press.

I do not believe that the advertising budget was Baht 129M for June alone, I think it was at least 6 times higher than that.

BBG acknowledges, however, that I do not know the exact advertising budget of the PM’s Office.

There you go, my post is as valid as the OP.

I just don't get it!  What the hell is he advertising?  It's not like the people have any choice of what PM they buy, is it?

Knowing would point to transparency.

Its good they have these other Departments so they can justify excessive spending.

I wonder how the advertising stacks up to press releases or as Big Donnie says "Fake News Stories"?

Propaganda, especially obviously false, has to been continually thrown in peoples faces. Unfortunately, its only the junta who cant see reality, or choose not to.

It would be much more transparent if he wore an army uniform rather than hiding behind a suit.

Or more appropriate if he wore a clown costume.
