When I showed this picture and repeated the opinion of a dermatologist = Age spots. Sheryl said doesn't look like it.  Better check the platelets. I did indeed, the count was within range.

Just recently a doc at Bumrundgrad said : age spots.

The issue today is = HOW DID YOUR AGE SPOTS show at first? Age spots are caused by clumping of Melanin in the skin. Causing brown not bloody spots, correct?  Therefore I believe they don't surface like my spots = which is very small bloody spots which enlarge quickly. and take weeks until the old blood is absorbed by the skin.

One other question: How did individual spots enlarge,  how quick, how large, did they disappear after a while?

Background to my question=

After reading and observing a lot, my skin seems to be affected by the long term use of Steroid Skin Creams or topical steroid withdrawal syndrome (TSW)

TSW can have unpleasant effect.

After I have a clearer understanding of age spots I will share my observations on eczema, skin and in particular on groin itches.

Steroid cremes will thin the skin and as we age the skin becomes naturally thinner. you may have thinned so much that they damage easily.  why have you been using steroid creams?

In answer to your question: I don't know if that is/was an age spot, but I had one on my face, on my nose between my eyes. My dermatologist took a sample and when the results came back she said it was some kind of pre-stage to skin cancer and should be removed. It was "burnt off" with liquid nitrogen if I'm not mistaken (or something else freezing cold).

It had formed slowly over time, I can't even say if it grew in diameter or if it had the same size from the start, but all of a sudden people started to notice it. It definitely never looked anything like the ones on your picture.

Btw. I'm in my forties, that was the only one so far.

As above - if what you are referring to are the large red areas, these may  (to the extent one can tell from a photograph) be what are called "purpura". Can be due to sun damage or to thinning of the skin and increased fragility of the small blood vessels right under the skin. Causes include aging, sun damage  and steroid cremes. They are not "age spots" as that term is commonly understood, though they may be due to age.

You may also have some actual age spots there, hard ot tel lfrom photo, but those would be brownish lesions not red-purple.
