Overnight rain a Pattaya nightmare

PATTAYA:--Three hours of late night rain prompted another nightmare for Pattaya commuters.

The 11 p.m. thunderstorm July 19 disabled traffic on Third, South and Sukhumvit roads, with water levels running 50-80 centimeters. Other spots, such as Soi Khao Talo and Soi Khao Noi, became racing rivers as water rushed down from the railway parallel road.

Soi Siam Country Club, already a disaster zone due to long-running roadwork, was rendered impassable.

It took up to three hours for roads to return to normalcy, particularly on Beach Road, which is the last stop for every drop of floodwater in Pattaya before it carves out the beach and returns to the sea.

Wow, talk about breaking news.   July 19, huh?  Today is July 28.

Just curious, how deep was the water in the tunnel?

Deep enough for the jet ski mafia contemplating hosting a Formula1 type slalom event :clap2:

Pattaya Mail is just that... Like waiting for snail mail to reach the USA from Thailand.

No idea how they stay in business?

The rain isn't the nightmare- it's natural and happens all the time.

The nightmare is the city council that allows building everywhere, but won't install the infrastructure to deal with the consequences of covering up natural water courses.

Was it last night or the 19th?

Well, I see another source with flood videos from July 19, 10 PM showing Soi Khao Talo.

Maybe translation took a bit longer.

Or a Pattaya local proofs me wrong.

" Beach road which is the last stop for every drop of floodwater in Pattaya before it carves out the beach and returns to the sea " They forgot to add where it will deposit all the Pony & Trap and other detritus it has consumed during the journey .. ?
