BMW owner says staff at the car wash sold her car

 

 

A bizarre story is doing the rounds of Thai social media after the owner of a Z4 BMW said the people at the car cleaners sold it.

A woman called Thippaporn appealed to the Social Hunter page to find her expensive motor, license number 4 กณ (Kor Nor) 1414.

She said she took it in to the usual car wash place in Klong 4. They sometimes delivered the car to her house after washing.

On this occasion, however, there was a woman on duty who offered her a deal. The shop would do a special job with all the bells and whistles because they wanted to use pictures of the fancy car to promote the shop.

Thippaporn agreed but it was the last she heard of her car.

The next day it still hadn't been returned and after several excuses and three days later she went to police to report it missing.

She claimed that the police went to the shop and were told that the vehicle had been sold. And they had the money.

Thippaporn was incredulous and now she has appealed that if anyone sees her car they can call her on 089 4480 289.

She really wants it back.

Tnews reported the story without giving any concrete explanation as to what has really happened and how a car wash could possibly sell a customer's vehicle.

Only in Thailand can a story like this exist. People leaving their cars for a wash and accepting excuses why it's late. Now a woman is appealing for her lost car like the police shouldn't be able to solve this in minutes. 

 

What a time to live. 

I never trust the shop to wash my car. They used dirty rugs and too high water pressure that could seriously hurt the paint. 

 

 

Serves her right; she should wash it herself and get her Hi So hands dirty once in a while !

Right, its a BMW, I don't even trust anyone else to touch my Fortuner.

Why do I have a feeling there is a WHOLE LOT more to this story.

this story is either complete fabrication OR just too pure to be believed; even for this place

Smells like insurance or she's trying to lose a car which maybe has a lot of customs fees to account for.

It smells like the lady didn't have any insurance! If she did she should have the insurance company contact the police.

Maybe the book was in the glovebox, would still need a copy of her ID and forge her signature though.

 

But I agree, much more to this than what is being reported.

VERY easy to forge a Thai signature.

 

My with had to fill out the immigration form at Swampy. The first time she signed it in Thai, but the IO made her do it again in English????

 

She writes English better than I do, but has no "signature on file", in English nor Thai.

 

I seriously doubt they have any handwriting analysts in Thailand, & since it was an "expensive car", they'll want 10,000 baht to even step outside their office.

Although there are more repos here than almost anywhere, it's unlikely in this case, as she went to the cops to report the vehicle missing. Something just doesn't add up ..... I suspect there's more to this that we know.

I've been using these services, both here in the rice paddies and Bangkok, for 15 years now. For 200 Baht I don't get my hands dirty, get a great job done and help the locals make a living. Dirty rugs --- seriously!!!!! 

suspicious story, BUT....all stories are suspicious here , so no big news except perhaps when the 'truth' is fabricated we all believe what the BIB has to explain.

As a qualified paint technologist who spent a lot of my working life in OEM paint shops I can tell you that the car cleaners do not have sufficient pressure to damage the paint.

So the police went to the car-wash, and the staff said " Oh yeah, we sold the car and but we have the money", and the police said "that's alright then" and walked away - yeah, right. Enough plot holes in this story to drive a herd of elephants through.
