Come on guys get a grip !!

Show some respect, if not for Glen for all the Alzheimer's sufferers out there .

Exactly, this topic should only be about celebrating Glen Campbells wonderful talents as a singer and guitar player and mourning his passing. Millions and millions and millions of people around the world loved his songs. If you think that him dying of Alzheimer's was so easy, why bother to post it here and upset those who are sorry he is gone and who have a real idea of what Alzheimer's actually entails.

With due respect to the Moderator, because this is directly related to this topic of Glens death, it strikes me as very odd that whenever we lose one of the great singers somebody has to put in their tuppence worth of nonsense just to upset others. We had it recently with David Bowie and with Leonard Cohen and its a very sad commentary on their moral compass and lack of empathy for others on this forum.

If you did not like their music its ok to say so here, not everybody likes a particular singer (a bit crass to bother to mention it when they have just died) but perfectly acceptable to say for instance  "oh I loved Witchita Lineman but never really cared much for his cover version of Lovesick Blues", but to mock how they died is just totally inappropriate.

To paraphrase Leonard Cohen, Glen Campbell will not be kept awake by Hank Williams coughing, because he paid his (musical) rent and will always be on the very top floors of the Tower of Song. His musical legacy will live on and it matters not one whit what he died of except to be sad that Alzheimer's is not an easy way to go for him or his family.
