President Joe Biden stumbled several times on a Delaware beach near his vacation home, needing assistance from First Lady Jill Biden to keep his balance, as shown in recent footage. The 81-year-old president was seen grappling with the unstable, sandy terrain at Rehoboth Beach on Sunday afternoon, just days after Vice President Kamala Harris lost a presidential race to former President Donald Trump, who will be returning to the White House.

As Biden moved through the deep sand, which visibly challenged his balance, Jill Biden was seen holding his arm to offer support. The video, captured by CSPAN, showed Biden initially struggling with the terrain before quickening his pace for a few unsteady steps toward reporters waiting nearby. They began asking about his upcoming Wednesday meeting with Trump, prompting Biden to shout one inaudible word toward them, though he did not respond to their questions. According to a Republican National Committee social media post, the event was met with sarcasm: “Biden is currently battling the sand at his beach house in Delaware,” they tweeted, adding, “The sand is winning.”

 

Biden, dressed casually in jeans, a dark sweater, a ball cap, and sunglasses, seemed unbothered as he eventually withdrew from the reporters and walked toward a parking lot, as reported by a press pool. Earlier, he and Jill had strolled near the water, with Biden stopping at one point to check his phone as Jill walked ahead. Their beach outing was brief, and the couple later returned to the White House that evening.

 

The Delaware visit is the latest in a series of public appearances that have led to renewed concerns about Biden’s mental and physical fitness. Over his term, he has faced mounting questions about his ability to manage the demands of the presidency, particularly as he has made several verbal missteps and occasionally seemed disoriented. His performance in a debate with Trump earlier this summer, marked by noticeable lapses and missed opportunities, intensified scrutiny from both political allies and opponents.

Yeah pretty embarrassing he is in charge. He hates Kamala so no way in hell he steps down. 

He is a stubborn old man. He did not want to allow anyone else to be in the Democratic election to begin with. He was forced to concede to allow Harris to replace him which I am sure he sees as a big mistake. Thinking he would have won if he had remained. 

To be honest. I am happier he remains rather than allowing Harris to run the show until Trump takes over. He may be bumbling but he has a repertoire with other countries leaders who still view him as capable but old. Whereas Harris does not even know what she talks about or why she goes places to meet with dignitaries.

agree, the cabinet should have advised that he was incompetent to serve but I guess because then KH would have assumed that position and they knew she was even less qualified IMHO.  Democratic party really screwed up as they could have won had they come up with someone more qualified earlier in the year.  I am not even close to being a Democrat nor do I follow any of their policies but nowadays, it is difficult to find competent and willing candidates I guess.  

They should protect him and keep him in good condition. They may have to exhume him for the next election if something better doesn't come around.

Nobody really has to be. The system can self-sustain and run on fumes. It's only when a crisis hits that things unravel because the necessary authorizations can't be obtained for some reason and communication breaks down. Or, advisors end up recommending things and he just signs off automatically on whatever is presented.

Not so. There is a defined pathway for when the POTUS is incapacitated- it goes from POTUS to VP and then I believe the speaker of the house and so on. In an emergency, there is a mechanism to remove the POTUS from contention if not able or capable.

Just find it sad. The guy should not be president and should be privately resting with dignity. Trump may be fitter both mentally and physically but he’ll be in his 80s soon as well and is a far cry from when he could speak well as a 40y old. Have an amendment to the constitution… no fogeys to run for president.

actually have a law against age discrimination - but really need the citizens to have more say on who the candidates are vice the powerful and rich who control who the parties will put up for election.  Those rich and powerful pay big $$$$$ to the parties/candidates in hopes of getting benefits from the winner - just look at how rich many of the Congress get rich on a government salary!!

Could be Peripheral neuropathy, the condition can affect balance when walking on uneven ground.

It's his stiffness that makes his walk look so unnatural. The tripping along in the sand itself is not a big deal. I trip across things all the time. But, for sure, his balance is off--not unusual at his age--and his upper body is really stiff.

The poor soul can't talk and walk on sand at the same time.
