RTARF officers in abduction case face disciplinary probe

BANGKOK: -- A committee has been set up to conduct a disciplinary investigation on Maj Gen Jaroon Ampa and four other officers attached to the Royal Thai Armed Forces (RTARF) headquarters in connection with the abduction for ransom of businessmen, Gen Surapong Suwana-adth, the supreme commander, said on Monday (Aug 14).

 

To be investigated are Maj Gen Jaroon and four non-commissioned officers attached to the Provost Marshal General’s Department.

 

The five were among the 10 persons arrested by police for alleged involvement in the abduction of Surachai Sae Yang, president of Kanta Group (Thailand), and Songsak Virojthavornkij, the company manager, for 20 million baht ransom on July 14.

A committee has been set up

 

This must be in the military manual as step #1, Set up a committee.

 

If it's really nasty set up a hole slew of committees (see also NRSA).

Not sure but in other countries military courts are far more harsh in their judgement. I just hope its the same here. Bad apples in the police and army need to be cleaned up.
