Pattaya police led by station chief Apichai Krobpetch raided a silk shop in north Pattaya catering to Chinese tour groups.

World James Collection Co. Ltd had been featured in complaints online in China that customers had been ripped off with fake Thai silk.

Jowo reported that such activity was bad for the image of Pattaya.

But the raiding party failed to turn up any silk bedding that was illegal. They only found pillowcases and other items that were what

they said on the label - 25% Thai silk and a combination of other materials.

But they made off with a cache of massage creams, foot creams and body lotions that didn't conform to standards - they didn't have where they were made on the label and tax had not been paid on the items.

And they warned the owners they were keeping a close eye out in future.

No one was arrested in Monday's raid.

" But they made off with a cache of massage creams, foot creams and body lotions that didn't conform to standards - they didn't have where they were made on the label and tax had not been paid on the items." How did they know tax had not been paid? What does the details of where it was made have any relevance to? If it was made in Thailand why would they pay, presumably, import duty?

As for standards what standards are they referring to? Too cheap for some rubbish maybe?
