I Can't Cut And Paste Thai Words Into The Online Dictionaries!

Featured Replies

I am not a computer whiz and I don't know how to switch my keyboard to type in Thai when I try to imput Thai words into the online Thai dictionaries. Also, when I cut and past my Thai words in openoffice or WordPad, they come out in a bizarre mix of English and numbers. I am using Windows XP SP 2.

Obviously I am doing something wrong or probably just need to click a few icons or something.

ALSO, I cannot use all of the fonts in WordPad because most of them only come out in English. I can only use a few of the basic ones.

Please help me. Any help you can give is much appreciated.

sounds like you need to load thai fonts onto your computor

I am pretty sure I did that already because now I have a few Thai fonts when before I did not have any. Plus I can now view Thai websites properly now after adjusting some things on WINXP and downloading a few SEAfonts.

Is there any way I can switch from English to Thai on my keyboard when I am typing on internet sites? I can only type in Thai if I choose a font in openoffice or some of the Thai fonts in WordPad. (Some Thai fonts that are listed in WordPad only come out in English).

Mid, I have already done that months ago.

It still sounds like you have not installed Thai support into Windows, and that is done where Mid indicates. Perhaps you forgot to complete all the required steps?

Is there a blue square with a white two-letter combination (e.g. EN for English, TH for Thai) at the bottom of your screen that allows you to switch between different language input? If not, chances are I am right.

This thread is hopefully helpful:

Dont know about Thai support in Open Office, sorry.

Try to see if you can paste the Thai script to a simple TXT file.

(If you can, and you want to save it, save it as unicode)
