Ex-Deputy PM's Wealth Revealed, Including Cars Worth 87M Baht
Sydebolle replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Well, even he will learn rather sooner than later, that he cannot eat money nor does power last forever. Yet, absolute power corrupts absolutely - as the saying goes; but we all know that this certainly does not apply to the kind gentleman who took care of watches of his deceased friend as he was not willing to share the details of the widow to avoid more pain over the lost husband. Mysterious are the ways of the East ........ -

I’ve made my views on this very clear. I believe he was engaging in Performative Grandstanding. The police have the power to ask anyone to move on. I’ve already criticized these powers the police have been given. I’m not on any Anti-Semitic side of anything. Your attempts to use the ‘ain’t-semantic’ slur to shut down my point of view is noted, as is the hypocrisy of you doing so while claiming to defend people’s right to voice their opinion (So long as you agree with those opinions seems to be the message).

I do not agree that the documentation of the feeder accounts is not important, the fact the TRD accounting method is not known doesn't change that need. If, for example, a person generates income from high interest savings, equities investments and employment, and funds from each of those three areas are commingled into a single account, that person will understand and be able to prove, what amount each one contributed and when (assuming adequate documentation is retained). If that person then remits X to Thailand, they are able to declare the source of those funds and provide a paper audit trail that confirms that. At some point, the TRD will make it known what accounting method they utilise, in which case the documentation of the feeder accounts is essential. Or they may not. It may be that the TRD will not want that level of granularity and will be happy that in the event of an audit, the person can provide a paper audit trail and that is sufficient. Either way, the documentation relating to feeds is very important, either now or later.

Frozen pension policy turns British expat's dream into a nightmare

How are thousands of illegal immigrants costing 8 million a day emptying bedpans and picking fruit? Close to one million immigrants a year is depressing, costing the UK 36 billion since 2020. No wonder there is no money to up rate pensions! -

I’m sure there are big warehouses in Bangkok filled with used electronics. Of course, new gear is easy to find. With the Japanese Yen dropping, maybe a person could find some good deals. Back in the states, I always tried to have quality equipment. Every once in a while in Thailand I get that urge, but so far, I’ve only bought some KEF LSX II speakers for my TV that are also good for streaming music. They have an internal amp, so that’s all you need. I can stream Roon, Tidal, Qobuz, Apple Music. Not bad little speakers for not too much money. I think they were around 50,000 baht. Anyway, I’m trying not to accumulate too much junk. I’m sure I cave in at some point, but so far, I’ve resisted.

The absurdity of the LTR handling
john donson replied to SingAPorn's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
thais in our home countries have a path to residence, citizenship, work without 'permit' if married to local, no restrictions, pension age can work, no specific jobs, etc... why the hell do long stay people not get automatic 'residency' status... not asking for citizenship... but this tax bul.ship might be the last straw... taxation without representation... -

Khun Thaksin has an agenda to jail the army chiefs who stole his premiership and send his sister into exile. He hasn't forgotten who stabbed him in the back. By the way when the older members who mention how Thailand was in the good days remember Taxi was in charge then. -

Are you serious, Russia invaded Ukraine, Zelensky had nothing to negotiate about. Russia should leave Ukraine and peace will be restored. Does nothing compute in your Putin aligned head. Stop trying to blame Ukraine for a war Russia started. -
