I spent over 2 months trying to get a new ATM card from my German bank, E-Mails back and forth, recriminations, complaints, in the end they sent one new one after another, 3 in all in roughly 3 week intervals. After still receiving nothing i wrote them a scathing E-mail, just as i had pushed the send button my wife came in with three envelopes, yes, the three ATM cards with the sent dates of 3 week intervals.

Thailand Post, the organization known for folding, breaking, throwing and totally losing mail.

Exactly who`s expert opinion is this?

visiting the local mail centre to pick up a package, I was sitting there watching them sort the packages & they were throwing them up to 4 metres into piles on the floor, they were simply too lazt to carry them and didnt care what was inside them so yes I can definitely say thet this is exactly how they sort their packages, Add to that 2 seperate visa cards went missing in the mail and the local PO told me that the workers are known to take them so they can sell them, even their bosses knows it happens but do nothing.

Barclays in the UK refuse to send me renewal Visa cards to Thailand, and even told me they would cancel the account I've had for 30 years. I have to get anything from them sent to my sister in Spain. Something for Thailand to be proud of.

The poor guy is probably under stress with a lousy job. A warning would have been more appropriate.

Tell me please--Why was his job a lousy one ???..............under stress ?? sorting and delivering mail on the P.O. motor cycle ???

This is Thai theft that is more than common if we all speak the truth. self gain is grained into most people--GREED. They have learned it from VIP and government officials to believe it's normal.

I receive a parcel worth 2000 euros from Europe every month since 10 years, and never had any problems...

I love Thai post office, they are very very good and their tracking system is the best i know.

Their tracking system is the best you know?gigglem.gif , how many others do you know or use?

You receive 2000 euro packages every month for 10 years? i would call bs on thatcoffee1.gif

Tracking system in real time....

Its EMS same in every country.

Funny how Thailand lets in 2000 euro worth of medication without permit or taxes.

hey i know you, you are the little black cloud that accompanies every silver lining

Living here in the sticks I get things sent by ebay sellers every few weeks....everything arrives! Back in Pattaya I had to register anything I sent or send EMS after 3 parcels went missing. And you need registered or EMS if you want to claim the pitiful insurance.

Many Thai falang Inspector Clouseau's getting fired up here to pillory the bottom rung of the Thai criminality ladder. This poor pick is a simple postman who is probably too lazy to get out and about to deliver what he is supposed to and he should be admonished for being just that. Surely there are more serious perpetrators of criminal activities to vent your spleen on.

The post is very important, it is a state institution that guarantees connection not just privately but for business and from the state. The great train robbers a long time ago in England got long prison sentences, not because they stole so much money but because they robbed the royal mail train, attack the the mail and you attack a government institution and a pillar of society. It would be correct to imprison this man as an example.

Interesting. I'm retired from the U.S. Army, so my health insurance is Tricare For Live. Thirty-three years ago, when I retired, I had to have a check mailed to me here in Thailand. Air mail (first class) took ten or twelve days. I was getting all my mail sent from the U.S. to my home in Chon Buri province. Last year I started submitting claims for medical expenses to Tricare in the U.S. Takes about two weeks to get there, anywhere from two weeks to two months to come from the States to me here in Nakhon Sawan. However I've also discovered part of the delay might be the people at Tricare not sending stuff timely. Very frustrating, luckily they finally got around to allowing direct deposit to my Stateside bank, so I don't have to wait for a check to come any more. Also, my credit union has a smartphone app that I have used to deposit the checks. Instant credit in my account, so I guess the future will be better.

Yeap, got same same, out for delivery and carded on the 05/03/2015 !!!

Been down in Tongsala every week since but no, no parcels for me

and today, I took my four tracking printouts with me and ohhh surprise,

they were there, all four parcels waiting since over 2 months on the

bottom of a pile.

Out for delivery? BS

Carded? BS

No have? BS

It's all there in the post office, just no one really knows in which corner.

Fired? Shouldn't he be arrested and charged with theft at the very least?

In the picture, I don't see that he opened any mail.

He just seems lazy and hasn't got round to making the deliveries yet?

Mind you, it has been rather warm lately don't you think?

<Snip> Watchareeporn said her family knew the postman personally, so a relative went over to his house and found her package, along with a pile of other undelivered letters and packages. <Snip>

We live in the back of beyond and the postie comes on a m/c, if the parcel is too big he leaves a card and we go into town and collect it.

Never had a problem either with international deliveries or from within Thailand.

Here in the UK we take such matters more seriously...

There was a postman who lived a few doors down the road from me who did a similar thing, he went to prison.

Probably why our postal service is far superior. gigglem.gif

Been pretty good in Hang Dong for years but a couple of letters/cards have failed to arrive over the past 6 months. Have to wonder if the Postie here is doing the same as this guy.

Postman fired after lost mail found at his home

Fired and Lost???

I would feel much better if it read " Imprisoned and Stolen "!

Like others, I have had important mail go "missing", had letters opened , valuable items removes, and then delivered without the valuable items.

This month I have a very important letter and document from my home government that has been " misplaced" somewhere.( I have been able to deal with it on line, but only because I knew it was way overdue to arrive.)

I have read threads on TV before about the Thai postal service and choke everytime I read a post abut how reliable it is.

I only rely on the Thai postal service to be unreliabe!
