A morbid subject, I know, but I have an elderly dog who has some health problems. Although I hope she will be around for a while to come, I would like to be prepared for the inevitable.

I have heard that there is a wat in Klong toey that carries out pet cremations and an animal hospital that also does it.

Does anyone have any contact details for any of these places.

Thanks

Karen

I am in a similar situation with my lovely dog but I live in Phuket. She is old and tired and I fear that she won't be with me for much longer.

I don't mean to hijack the thread but I am interested in the same thing but here in Phuket.

I hope your pet is with you for a while to come Karen.

Thanks Goldenbead, and I hope your dog is with you for a while to come too.

I think you may find it even more difficult to find a cremation service in Phuket than Bamgkok.

I found this article online

http://www.abc.net.au/worldtoday/content/2005/s1450354.htm

which confirms that the service is available in Bangkok, but doesn't give the name of the wat.

Also I found a website www.thaidogcoffin.com which I presume relates to dog cremation, but it is in thai with no english translation.

Ask at your vet clinic as they will probably know. The vet clinic that I usually use offers a pet burial or cremation service but I'm pretty sure that it's an outside company that does it, not the clinic. You could try calling them to find out where they arrange for it to be done. The number is 02 5753370.

Yes there is a wat in Klongtuey. We buried our cat there. We went to Thonglor Pet Hospital.

Miss you a lot, Lucky.

Just found this thread and was looking for the number myself. I managed to get it from Thonglor Hospital. Normally they charge 600 for cremation without the ashes and 2,500 if you want the ashes back. They have the animals cremated at the Klongtoey temple as well. The number for the temple is 086-044-9957. He's the old man who conducts the cremation and only speaks Thai so make sure to have a Thai speaker on hand before calling. If you go yourself, the cost for the cremation is by donation, pay as you wish. Hope this helps anyone else who needs this number.
