I guess its all down to the nationality of the child.

If you had it registered the same nationality as you and followed all of the correct legal procedures upon the child's birth, then it would become a diplomatic issue so it should be doable. If this is the case contact your embassy in BKK and ask for their assistance.

If the kid is registered as a Thai citizen I wish you well but wouldn't hold your breath. I know personally of one instance where it has happened but it took a lot of time and a lot of money.

Is it an easy process? I seriously doubt it.

Try asking member Thomas Merton who is a defender of abandoned children in Thailand by evil farangs.

In this case the child holds birth certificates and Passports for both the UK and Thailand.
