  1. Ok so she needs the help of a singer from a band that basically rips off the Korean boy band bit (who ripped off the American boy bad bit that ended in the US 10 years ago and is as old as the hair on grannies chest!) I don't understand. Where are all the Thai diplomats and politicians? When are they going to earn their kick-backs? These guys have stolen good money and they should do some work for it! Or perhaps Yingluck is starting to see what the rest of the world knows - they are all idiots so lets bring in the heavy hitters to get the job done! I hear the Backstreet Boys are available for brokering nuclear arms treaties!

  2. I'm not suprised at all. There is so much to see and do in this beautiful country and the people are much more warm and welcoming to foriegners than in other parts of Asia - especially China. This is a country with problems like many, and has one of the most corrupt and incompetent governments that exist on the planet. But LOS still has its charms and I see that every time I look at my beautiful wife who embodies the best the Kingdom has to offer.

  3. My view of LOS is that its basically Mexico without the work ethic! But I love Mexico too! It's their country and the people get the government they deserve so enough said there. But as an American married to a Thai and having spent alot of time here there is much to love about this country and the people and tourists will still flock here. I've been fortunate at Swampy as I've not had a bad experience there yet, knock on wood. The longest line I've waited in was maybe 45 minutes but usually less that 15 at the times I've come through and sometimes no wait at all. Flying again to HK on Monday so we will see if my luck holds. I do agree about those damned metal chairs though!

  4. Probably useless in Thailand unless you are working in-house for a company that files patents in the US. Not much work for US attorneys here unless you are working at getting visas for Thai girls to be with their US mates, and even that business is pretty crowded here and certain rules apply to practicing here. I'd still recommend it for your future endevours though as odds are you won't be remaining in Thailand indefinitely. Good luck.

  5. A PM that cries in public? You have to be kidding me. Is that the best you can do Thailand? Geez Barak Obama will go down as the worst President in US history but at least he lets his staff do all the crying and whining for him. Oh well, at least she's easy on the eyes!

  6. The Millenium Hotel on Asoke usually has some nice music in the bar on the weekends. If you enjoy jazz in a nice setting then The Sheraton Grande on Sukhumvit near the Asoke BTS station is the place. My wife and I also enjoy The Check Inn on Sukhumvit neat the Nana BTS station. They have a very good Filipino quartet featuring 3 lovely front singers and they cover most of the artists you mentioned. Warning on this one though - it is a bit of a hang for old punters and their whores but very low key and we have never felt uncomfortable there.

  7. Pubs with Filipino singers. Pub at Sukhumvit Soi 7; Mojo Bar has a Filipino singer; The Corner at Soi Cowboy and the pub opposite The Corner has Filipino band. There is a church near Ploenchit that has mass in Tagalog. Let me get more info on the church. I'm more familiar where the beers are.

I'd also add The Check Inn on Suhkumvit right near the Nana BTS station. Great Filipino band with 3 nice looking ladies and a gent who are very friendly, been there forever and could probably hook you up with some folks.
