No issues either coming or going last week. 15 minutes tops on both ends.

Ok so she needs the help of a singer from a band that basically rips off the Korean boy band bit (who ripped off the American boy bad bit that ended in the US 10 years ago and is as old as the hair on grannies chest!) I don't understand. Where are all the Thai diplomats and politicians? When are they going to earn their kick-backs? These guys have stolen good money and they should do some work for it! Or perhaps Yingluck is starting to see what the rest of the world knows - they are all idiots so lets bring in the heavy hitters to get the job done! I hear the Backstreet Boys are available for brokering nuclear arms treaties!

Haha in the US the little girl would have been packing heat and would have wasted the Rent-A-Cop!

Good time to be coming through Swampy. The lines should be short with all the sex tourists likely to delay their sexcations. As for the real tourists plenty to see and do during that time. I'm sure Ill be getting buckets of water dumped on me somewhere!

I'm not suprised at all. There is so much to see and do in this beautiful country and the people are much more warm and welcoming to foriegners than in other parts of Asia - especially China. This is a country with problems like many, and has one of the most corrupt and incompetent governments that exist on the planet. But LOS still has its charms and I see that every time I look at my beautiful wife who embodies the best the Kingdom has to offer.

My view of LOS is that its basically Mexico without the work ethic! But I love Mexico too! It's their country and the people get the government they deserve so enough said there. But as an American married to a Thai and having spent alot of time here there is much to love about this country and the people and tourists will still flock here. I've been fortunate at Swampy as I've not had a bad experience there yet, knock on wood. The longest line I've waited in was maybe 45 minutes but usually less that 15 at the times I've come through and sometimes no wait at all. Flying again to HK on Monday so we will see if my luck holds. I do agree about those damned metal chairs though!
-
Of course they should be graded based on looks! In this country their future jobs, promotions and professional standing will all be based on that so why not get them used to it. When will they learn that what you know is of no use here. Silly students!

If Taksin really is a crook and wasn't just set up ( a very plausible possiblility given all the other crooks in the Thai government), how the heck does his sister get put in charge? Only in the Land of Scams!
-
Probably useless in Thailand unless you are working in-house for a company that files patents in the US. Not much work for US attorneys here unless you are working at getting visas for Thai girls to be with their US mates, and even that business is pretty crowded here and certain rules apply to practicing here. I'd still recommend it for your future endevours though as odds are you won't be remaining in Thailand indefinitely. Good luck.

Many times the Premium Lane is a joke with many who don't hold passes at all. No one polices it and the card is so cheap its not very Premium at all. I just go in the Thai line with my wife and we get through pretty quick.

The St. James is always a good bet and very reasonable. Look it up on Agoda. Near the BTS and Emporium, not to mention great street food along Sukhumvit.

Does anyone still question the stupidity, short-sightedness and greed of the little filths in charge of this country? If a Thai spouse owns the land then she owns the land and there cannot possibly be a law violation. As far as Thai corporations using nominees, the Thai law allows it so where's the problem? These people talk out their own asses and don't even understand their own system, which doesn't suprise me as they are all idiots! They don't care about their own people, they only care about pretending to have wealth and looking the part. They don't work for it or earn it, they steal it and are simply common theives. A message to all these greedy little Thai beurocrats who actually think they are something - we in the west who actually do have real wealth see you all as a bunch of corrupt, second-class world citizens who simply steal from your own people. You have nothing that impresses us and never will. Give me an Isaan farmer that works hard every day to put food on his family's table and a decent roof over their heads any day over any phony Thai politician/thief trying too hard to impress us that he or she is worth anything.

Every time I take the bus from BK to Korat the hostess is a ladyboy. No big deal. Just don't spill the coffee on me.

We have 3BB Broadband in our little village outside Nakhonratchasima and it works great. I have it hooked up to our computer and also run a wireless router for the laptops, cell phones and ipad. Not sure if its available where you are at but if so well worth it.

A PM that cries in public? You have to be kidding me. Is that the best you can do Thailand? Geez Barak Obama will go down as the worst President in US history but at least he lets his staff do all the crying and whining for him. Oh well, at least she's easy on the eyes!

Look, if you want to eliminate corruption its incredibly easy. Just do what the US Congress does and pass laws making your illegal behavior legal! Problem solved!

Report forgot to add that "100% of hotel reception staff use facebook, while at work, for 90% of the time while on premises"
Haha that is so F$%#ing true!

The Millenium Hotel on Asoke usually has some nice music in the bar on the weekends. If you enjoy jazz in a nice setting then The Sheraton Grande on Sukhumvit near the Asoke BTS station is the place. My wife and I also enjoy The Check Inn on Sukhumvit neat the Nana BTS station. They have a very good Filipino quartet featuring 3 lovely front singers and they cover most of the artists you mentioned. Warning on this one though - it is a bit of a hang for old punters and their whores but very low key and we have never felt uncomfortable there.
-
Pubs with Filipino singers. Pub at Sukhumvit Soi 7; Mojo Bar has a Filipino singer; The Corner at Soi Cowboy and the pub opposite The Corner has Filipino band. There is a church near Ploenchit that has mass in Tagalog. Let me get more info on the church. I'm more familiar where the beers are.
I'd also add The Check Inn on Suhkumvit right near the Nana BTS station. Great Filipino band with 3 nice looking ladies and a gent who are very friendly, been there forever and could probably hook you up with some folks.

So we can now plan on seeing Thai government officials playing football instead of raping and molesting 14 year-old boys and girls in the Thai only brothels?
