  1. Thx. Now I am in doubt: Shall I say to him what you said and get into a further argument or shall I leave it be and just agree with him? (a white lie)
  2. No space restrictions whatsoever, but what about the efficiency! Who is right when the Sparky saying that the Poly are more efficient and DURABLE or myself who says the Mono are more efficient?
  3. I used to put in V-Power all the time, but when it reached 53 THB per liter my wife started complaining and now we put in B7 and on the next fuel stop V-Power. Don't notice any major difference in mileage on a full tank!
  4. We gathered everyone at the Amphur (village chief / Witness) and they filled in the paper work there and then. About 2-3 hours later I got my Yellow Book!
  5. We flew 20 July from DMK -> BFV and all the ordered food by passengers was put in the overhead compartment and it was not allowed to be eaten on board. A couple sitting behind us was complaining about it.
  6. We just recently flew Buriram -> Bangkok and just last week Bangkok -> Buriram! The only things changed is that there is NO food service on board and you have to wear a mask ALL the time!
  7. In addition to the tips above. If it is a substantial amount, I would have to sender send something like 50-100 THB first. Oke will get strange looks from the bank but who cares. Then after you checked that the money has arrived let him send the rest. This way the sender can't say I have send you the money but he actually didn't!
  8. Weird this. I was issued the Yellow Book the same day I applied!
  9. Already having my first discussion with the Sparky. I want Mono Solar Panels, he wants Poly. I say Mono are more efficient but more Expensive and he says Poly are more efficient and more durable. What would you choose for use in the Thai Climate? Edit Ps: We want to start off with 5-10 panels!
  10. Have you checked bigger Pharmacies? For example the one in BIG C Extra? Or Fascino, which also has a shop near Soi Buakhao on Pattaya Klang road!
  11. Oke looking at Finnair Selected the date 31 August, but return date in Oct NO FLIGHTS available Only date that is available are 6 Sept onwards and then Return Flights in Oct are available. Both Premium Economy Weird this! Ps: Long wait at SIN but beats china airlines BKK -> TPE -> AMS
  12. Funny you say that, I was just looking at Austrian as an alternative because they have Prem Economy. Came to the Booking page and there was seat selection and also the possibility to add extra luggage and if I selected the seats we wanted on the 4 trips (BKK -> VIE -> AMS. AMS -> VIE -> BKK) it was an extra 12k THB just for seat selection. And the price was already at well over 100k per person!!
  13. May I ask: If you had all the test then you also should have gotten a recommendation from the Doc about which Medicine you should take! So what was the recommendation / Meds you got? If you know the name people can advise you @Sheryl for example which medicine is available OTC here in LoS.
  14. We are finally ready to book our flights to Europe and was really surprised that Eva Air has cancelled the Premium Economy on flights from BKK -> AMS in Sept and Oct. Only classes bookable are Business and Economy! Premium economy is (seems) only available on Eva BKK -> LHR.
  15. Agreed, and even for a HiSo hospital (with even a Sushi restaurant on the premises but also a MacDonalds ???? ) it was cheaper then we initially thought! Consult + Flow Test + 2x Ultra Sound of lower abdomen (1 with a Full Bladder and 1x after peeing) was 9k THB. (Ps: Insurance Price, I think if you pay yourself it will be cheaper)
  16. @I am in Mae Mao Before going the medicine route, go and see a GOOD urologist. Have a Flow test and a Ultra Sound to see how big the Prostate actually is. Also have you had a PSA test recently? I went to Bumrungrad hospital in Bangkok (I live in Buriram) and did see this Doctor, highly recommended. https://www.bumrungrad.com/en/doctors/Charuspong-Dissaranan Edit: I see you are near Chiang Mai. In the Pinned topic, this Doctor here is in Chiang Mai Chiang Mai Siwat Phuriyaphanat at Sripat https://sriphat.med.cmu.ac.th/en/doctor/detail/339 Link:
  17. I also got DuoDart initially, but it gave me some side-effects and now my Urologist gave me Xatral XL 10mg and no side-effects! 1 Tablet daily before Bed-Time! Edit: Both Duodart and Xatral are OTC, with Duodart being the more expensive one.
  18. We (read me, myself and I (without telling SWMBO ???? ) are picking up Solar again. I had a talk with a local (very important!!!! (IMHO)) Sparky who says he can do it and he more or less understood the line diagram that @Crossy drew a while back! Will keep you informed, but as the field were the panels are to be located is flooded (10-15cm water max, more then that it will flow out to the fields next door (which now (finally) also belongs to us (read Wifey ???? ) ) it will take a while before actual work can start. Would really appreciate any comments on our buying plans / Specs for the Panels and the inverter etc etc which we are planning to do in the next coming weeks! Edit: Ps: I am preparing for it to be a cancelled project again, but if that is the case I will have some cheap solar stuff for sale
  19. Ps: 2700 THB but Insurance Paid
  20. Did you ask if they do it there or do you get send to Bangkok Hospital? Reason why I ask, Memorial last time was there only had "basic" facilities and for more serious you got referred to Bangkok Hospital or the Hospital at Soi 4 Ps: CT Scan is a bit more then a Picture of your tummy https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/treatment-tests-and-therapies/ct-vs-mri-vs-xray
  21. Same here, not anything major as a disc pushed out, but that 200 THB massage cost me in the end around 10x that in Doctor fee's!
  22. Can an agency / agent handle Marriage visas approval? Retirement yes, but Marriage ones are tricky because they get send for approval to the Regional HQ unlike Retirement ones which get handled / approved by the local IO.
  23. My medicine yes, but wife's no because it's all over the OTC but thx for the tip will save them for next visits Daughter is sending OTC medicine all the time to my wife's and no issues sending those. Bangkok pharmacies are a lot (and I mean a lot) cheaper then here in Buriram (and some medicine isn't even available here). If anyone can recommend a good pharmacy in Buriram / Surin then please let me know
  24. Thx. let me clarify. We had No checked bags and this was after you check-in and go through the Boarding Pass control and then onwards the area where you have take of your belt etc etc and put everything to go through the X-Ray. We had 3 bags, 2 bags were fine, but the 3rd with the Medicine was scanned again 2-3 times and then wiped. All of the Medicine of my Wife is OTC but my Medicine (which I got from the Hospital) is prescription only. My Medicine was in the original package from the Hospital. Edit: They did not ask to look inside of the bag, they only wiped it and then we were let go (after asking for the Boarding Pass)
  25. We just flew home from a Hospital visit from DMK airport, and as we went through the security section and after our bags were scanned one of our bags was swapped with a tissue and was scanned another 2-3 times and when asked what was wrong they said "special bag". And when asked anything wrong? they just asked to see the boarding pass and said "nothing wrong" I guess it was because that bag had .... loads of medicine in it both from me and my wife (and just done a Hospital visit so got a supply of Medicine) . But this was the first time ever that this happened to us. Next time (in 3 months) I will have the daughter send the medicine to us via Courier instead of taking it on a plane. Anyone the same experience?
