  1. <snip>

    In Windows 8, MS has 'enhanced' Windows Defender to make it more like MSE. So now people should be

    running Windows Defender on Windows 8 and not MSE. Doh!

    <snip>

    Yeah I find that strange also, first ditch a product (defender) in favour of another one (MSE) and then ditch that one in favour of the other ditched one. What's next ? Windows 9 comes out with MSE again ? ermm.gif

    <snip>

    Unlike MJCM, I did not like Avast and changed to MSE several years ago.

    MSE is good (and defintely low on resources), but I would use it icm with another real time scanner (MBAM for example).

  2. Mulitple Entry means exactly that, so yes you can leave any time you want (until the visa is still valid) and when you come back you will get another 90 Days.

    If you (a couple of days before 3rd December 2013) make a border run and come back into Thailand, you again get a 90 Days stay, and thus give you some more time to get your financials in order.

    Ps: The extension based on marriage needs to be done in the last 30 days of your stay, so you can do it somewhere in February 2014 (if you exit before 3rd December 2013 and come back the same day eq Visa Run)

    PsPs: No idea about taking the car

    PsPsPs: Extension of Stay you get from Immigration locally here in Thailand and to be able to leave the country and to keep your extension "alive" you need a re entry permit, BUT if you got a Multiple Entry Visa from an Embassy or Consulate outside of Thailand, you don't need to worry about re-entry permits , 90 Day Address reporting etc etc

  3. I tried to wire transfer to a Thai bank acct. the same way I have done numerous times but today my bank teller said the transfer would not go through. Is the thai government trying to stop the rise of the bht. by controlling the influx of money?

    How much money are you talking about, I just transferred Euro 5000 from my European Bank to my Siam Commercial Bank yesterday and it arrived early morning today in my account.

  4. He'll show you a picture showing a copy of your visa is required. You can give them that and they can accept it but that does not prove it is really required. Proof that it is really required is NOT giving it and then it being demanded. I still think the list in the link I provided is the real current list and the notice at immigration is one of those lost in translation things.

    The listed you posted, I usually took with me, but as it is almost 3 months ago, things could have changed, so if someone offers to go to immigration and post a picture of the actual requirements. Nice.

    But I always take more with me then it's necessary as for me it's a 20-30 minute trip to get there !!

    The copy shop is a 5 second trip to get there.

    True, but I was talking about if you forget a document at home (or there is a new requirement which you don't know about) that is something a copy shop can't solve for you. And that's why I always take more documents with me (as said) then is necessary !

  5. I understand that you are worried, but you are only dealing with 1 registry key and this registry key is not important for the working of your PC, but it is for the working of iTunes.

    Oke can you try again to change the permissions as Admin after starting the PC in safe Mode ??

    That's kind of my point. If they post a list that says VISA, who wrote that list? I don't think they mean visa. I think they mean

    Passport page showing

    latest Immigration Permission to Stay Stamp

    I agree things can change. I don't think this has changed. I will be glad to agree it has changed if I actually experience the change. That notice at immigration I don't think should be taken literally, again, most probably a lost in translation thing.

    I agree with you, but once I had the guy at the 90 Day desk asking me for a copy of my Non-O Visa (expired in 2011 been on extensions ever since) but since then I always take a copy one with me. ! Again, as always take more with you then seems necessary as a round trip takes longer and paper isn't that heavy biggrin.png

  8. It doesn't matter what it says on their form. Incorrect information, messed up terminology is typical here. No copy is visa is required. One copy of required stuff only.

    It is my opinion and experience that this reflects the current ACTUAL requirements:

    Yes please I am due next week and would like to know if there are any new photocopies I have to bring.

  9. Nope, it is exactly that, FTA.

    Anybody putting up a dish and a simple FTA reciever can watch it. Totally free.

    However expecting your cable/satellite TV provider to include it for free on their system, is totally wrong...

    Oke understood but looking at the line up from True, they carry BBC (obvious) but also Tv5Monde, TVB(Chinese) and NHK World Premium but that one at a hefty surcharge of 972 THB,

    And as you said in a previous post they (True that is) also don't carry DW TV (German), so that's why I was wondering why they don't have more of these FTA Channels, but now I understand.

    Thanks for clearing that up !
