Lee,
your passport is the only thing you need.to open a bank account. Just walk into a Bank of your choice (Kasikorn or SCB are good) and if they refuse you, just go to another branch.

Here is a link to it on some website (http://www.pattayago...com/pattbus.htm), but I really don't know if these Buses still run. If you're adventures you can take a white Baht bus on Sukhumvit, they will pass the Floating Market.
-
Thank you but the 1st one given is totally Thai and the 2nd one is to simple and not to scale, difficult to figure them out. Anyway, I will look for the Red Line Beach bus provided. Thanks.
It's quite easy to find, if you come from Pattaya Klang and you drive towards Sukhumvit, turn right at the traffic lights onto Sukhumvit. Drive past Pattaya Thai (BIG C, Home Works), drive past Thepprasit (Lotus), drive past Makro and then maybe after another couple of km's (not sure exactly) it's just past a PTT gas station on your left hand side of the road. You can't miss it as LennyW already said:
just normal to see 40 - 50 tour buses double and triple parked along Sukhumvit !!!- 1

They also have a website: http://www.pattayafloatingmarket.com

I have lived here for 11 years and my wife and i hate Songkran but we dont whine we just get out of here for 10 days and let the people who enjoy it crack on.
I hate it, but my wife loves it, but I just let her go and enjoy herself, and that's for us the way the cookie crumbles

It wouldn't surprise me one bit, that even Loy Krathong in Pattaya lasts a week instead of Nation Wide 1 day
-
BB1950,
you also could have checked the Thai Visa Calendar () Which displays most of the important Thai Holidays
-
In Pattaya Song Kran lasts until the 19th, with the last 2-3 days being the worst

George,
on this page you can find the downloadable delivery Rates and the zones.
http://www.ikea.com/...very/index.html
Zone A (Within 50 Km) is around 650 THB
And for assembly service, you have to visit the Home Delivery counter on the first floor
But Basic assembly will cost you minimum 350 baht or 7% of the price of the item.

Joeed, thanks for this. Which shop did you go to ? I always go to Boy Air & Sound, but I'm ready for alternatives
-
Baht bus is b5, right? I read that far ants get charged 10baht, but I'm happy to hand the driver the proper amount then walk away....but I want to make sure 5baht is the proper amount.
I doubt it that they except only 5 Baht from a Foreigner, it's been 10 Baht for a long time already.
-
Joeed, keep us posted. I am in the same position. Dislike the poor ipod integration and lack of usb.

............... will be very interested in hearing all options you come up with.

As you come into Pattaya on Sukmv there are a number of places about 500M -> 1Km before the Toyota dealership.
I used one to fit an ipod connector in my SUV and they were ver professional Sorry forget the name but they are on the corner of a small Soi --- on the opposite side of the Soi but still on Sukmv they have three or four 'work bays' where they are able to work on vehicles. If I recall the name of the shop will post later.
I think you mean Boy Air & Sound

.
I doubt there will ever be an exact consensus on channel numbers.
Agreed.
The lower numbers are obviously the accurate ones -- apparently these are sequence numbers, not actual channel numbers -- Yours appears to have seen Fox as the 28th channel it found, where mine is 27 -- Probably my tuner saw one earlier channel as too weak and skipped it (just guessing).
What does your tuner find on nr 5 ? My televisions find a Channel over there (But it's only static so no test screen what so ever)
Edit: //
I'm just making this list because there is no real official list and it only takes around 5-10 mins of my time (most of that time goes into the Channel Re-Scan
