We were quoted 4.5k THB for approx the same distance (Bangkok - Buriram) last Oct from a Taxi company we often used, so expect around the same but expect more as the Petrol price is set to increase in January.

Switch on Grid Export on Solar Inverter
MJCM replied to eddysacc's topic in Alternative/Renewable Energy Forum
So what you are saying is that you can't switch off an inverter during the day, make some changes, start it up again and see if it works? -
We used this one when we lived in Pattaya Dental Care Center on Pattaya Klang road https://goo.gl/maps/nfPmnzcxib9eVkRa9 Very good but very busy and not that expensive.

If you do C.O.D. you can also pay the delivery guy via QR code. I know for sure that with Flash and Kerry that you can pay C.O.D. that way. No idea about the other delivery services.

Good one, I use my SCB Card for Online Shopping and as soon as the payment has gone through I block the card immediately in the APP so it can't be used any more till I unblock it. Withdrawing money I do via the SCB APP as well via the Cardless ATM option and thus not via ATM card

I agree with what you write about the Expats in Pattaya, when we lived in Pattaya we only had a bike and if we went shopping and if we bought a lot we used the Taxi's they have at Big C Extra (for example), so no need for a car really. If we wanted to go eat Seafood in Ban Amphur we just ordered a Taxi Meter (no BOLT / Grab etc there then) But now living in the Sticks in Isarn, we need a car as it's a 90km Round Trip to the nearest Big C / Makro. Very close (5km) we can do shopping but it's very limited. Ooh I also forget Immigration? That is also a 80km Round trip. Ooh what about Hospital then? The place nearby here they call hospital, you wouldn't get me in there even if they dragged me, so where is then the Hospital? Also a 80km Round trip. So here we need to own one, and as at the moment our Car is in for "unexpected" repairs which will last at least a week and we have given our 2nd car a couple of months back to my Wife's daughter, I do think my plea for an EV (at the SWMBO) will be heard and I guess that a new (2nd) car (EV or ICE) will be here soon. So in Pattaya living in a Condo not going out much, NO need for a car really but NOT everyone lives that way. Ooh one more thing, my FIL just passed away and for the family (who lives even further away from the city) a CAR is totally necessary and even in normal live. Yeah have fun going shopping for 6 people on a Bike ????

Bank insists I wear a mask
MJCM replied to happydays's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I wonder what the OP and other members who will NOT wear a mask when asked would do, when they are going to extend their Immigration Status and the IO insists that they wear a mask. ???? -
ithx guys for all the helpful replies, appreciated i think the creature that bit through the cable didn’t want us to go away as I had a long awaited hospital visit on Monday in Pattaya and thus we couldn’t go (buses were also full).. (we only got the call from hospital late last week) and now we got a phone call from the SIL that the father (who is bedridden for a long time already) doesn’t wanna eat or drink and got a high temperature. The BIL is picking my wife up as I don’t wanna let her go on the Bike (20kms away). (We shouldn’t have given our 2nd car to the daughter ????) so in a sense a good thing that we couldn’t go. (do rats / dogs have a sixth sense ????) thx again, really appreciated

Revolut, maybe potential for Wise issue
MJCM replied to scubascuba3's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Revolut and Wise are internet “banks” so nothing to do with Bitcoin. -
I would prefer to put down the Sticky traps, but SWMBO finds them cruel. So the plan is now, close the area of where we park the car (biggest issue will be the door as its 4m wide), and when the area is closed drop a whole bag of rat poison around and below the car and see what that brings.
-
That is what the garage said as they also found rat droppings, but I have discussed this with SWMBO and we agree to close of the parking area so that the dog can’t enter anymore.
-
The emergency repair guy that the Garage send at first saw also traces of rat droppings in the engine. Unfortunately he wasn’t able to to fix the car so it went on a truck to the garage where they discovered the cable.
-
I disagree why, because our water pump cables have been also been bitten through a couple of months ago and that area is totally not dog accessible as it was inside the pump edit here a picture of the cable in the pump. See the rat poison all around the pump?? (The pump normally has a cover on it, so not dog accessible)
-
We have a dog, which is a good hunter but unfortunately as we are talking almost 4 rai it's a bit big for her alone. We are really thinking of closing the garage, which is now open to all sides, so that we can put rat poison there without the dog eating it.
-
Good idea. SWMBO informed me that it will be a 7k+ Bill so anything to prevent that in the future is welcomed.
-
Thx looks interesting but my question, will this work in a outdoor open garage? Edit: I was thinking of using those Glue Traps all around the car, but SWMBO doesn't like the idea.

Some animal nibbled at a cable underneath the car which caused the car to give all kinds of errors and thus the car wouldn't start any more which was a real pain in the ..... because we had a Hospital appointment we couldn't keep. Car is in the Service center (went their on a recovery truck) and they have to order stuff which will take another 3-4 days (from tmrw as today is a Holiday) Now my question what do you use to protect your car from animals that nibble at the cables in your car?

I am getting there. Highest reading this year was 348 Units and for this month the prediction is 71 units and that is with a VERY simple 2 GTI system with only 6 Panels (and I must say also with some other changes, like removing some UPS's which were faulty etc etc). Our install to be (hopefully next month) is a 5kW GTI with 10 Panels and that will push it even further down.
