  1. Has anyone clarified how all these foreign tourists will actually get to Hua Hin? Will they land in and pass through BKK? I guess if Bangkok is still closed next week (as expected) then there will be next to zero flights... so each airline will have flights for Hua Hin! ???? This doesn't sound like it will work to me, but maybe I'm missing something.
  2. So, we all believe her to be guilty before trial do we? But the press have her name and photo for all to see. What evidence do we have? An arrest warrant and the 'word' of our wonderful police force. ???? Ok, so it's likely that she committed the crimes but please let her go to court first.
  3. The red line has two sections. #1 Bag Sue - Rangsit (stopping at about 12 stations on the way, including Don Meaung) #2 Taling Chan - Bang Bamru - Bang Son - Bang Sue This system was 'being tested' for months before they let the public on. I'm not sure why all of a sudden the trains are noisy. I really like it, although on one trip the train went really slow for the last two stops.
  4. There are the usual comments here.. - open the bars & girly bars and sell booze because that's what all tourists want - it will fail. Thailand is a failure - Chinese this, temples that But although I tend to agree in part, there is some sense in opening for people who don't just come for some local flesh and Chang beer, and are likely to kiss and grope girls & boys who then go to kiss and grope many others, all under the influence. If the government screw it up, the same people will complain and say 'told you so.' I love a beer, in a special bar as well as a restaurant, but these establishments should be the last to open. So, there's some sense in opening other places first, at least to test the water and get SOME tourists through the door.
  5. When you click on threads like this... ????????????
  6. As always, the usual negative comments and stories of valour or near-death experiences. ThaiVisa never lets us down! As other posters have said, it depends on where you plan to swim in Thailand. Some beaches are awesome and others less so. Any with boats, captained by Thais, should be avoided. But the content of the OP's first post would suggest that his/her mind is already made up, mainly from fear of pretty much anything under the surface. Living here in Thailand can be more dangerous on land most of the time. I often feel safer out at sea.
  7. Anyone want a cute, young puppy? Nonthaburi/Bangkok. While out jogging early this morning I saw a car acting suspiciously. Rear passenger door open, and street dogs barking. 45 minutes later I found this little thing, all alone at the side of the road near where the car had stopped. https://goo.gl/maps/XtjQKQkRGDh3yAay8 So, now we're looking for a home for this lovely little pooch. And the scum who abandoned her should watch this video... https://youtu.be/JMs7dkdO4YY
  8. Nice idea! May I ask for a picture of your boat? I am thinking of similar, in canals.
  9. You really don't need to be a genius to figure some things out! (Pubs closed = fewer drunk drivers = fewer accidents = fewer deaths.) Traffic and pollution have also dropped during lockdown. How many have suffered, sold their souls to loan sharks or or even committed suicide in the past 18 months?
  10. Whale = spot on! ???????????????? But 50,000B is a huge amount for some people (fair punishment) and a tiny drop in the ocean for others (no deterrent at all).
  11. In reply to a few posts, from what I gather (here on this forum) it's not the brand of vaccine or where it's made that the UK don't accept, but where it's administered. So even a Pfizer jab that was given here in Thailand falls into the same category as Thai-made AstraZeneca. I have no knowledge or opinion on Sinovac/Pharm, though. Maybe they're 'double bad.'
  12. It was Saturday night, and I believe the OP was active yesterday. Just saying... and I am happy to be proven wrong, but... ????????????
  13. Anyone else notice that the OP started the topic and left? I really do think that there's a few members in recent months who just make up a troll thread to draw attention. #LockdownBoredom ?
  14. I have a friend who (especially after a few beers) will not let ANYthing drop and HAS to be proven right, even when it's clear to everyone else that he's wrong or deranged or being pedantic. Oh, and he has to have the last word, as well. An active poster on this thread reminds me of him. ????????????????????????
  15. Why doesn't the OP tell us all where this happened, so that TV members and their family & friends can avoid the area? Someone on here might even know about it. Could the whole story be made up? I've read many posts recently that appear this way. ???? Just saying, not accusing. I'm a dog lover and very much in the 'owners are usually to blame more than dogs' brigade, but pitbulls are strong and trained as well as bred to be aggressive. They have no place in human society unless under control. I hope the OP's buddy recovers, and the dog is dealt with before a child is hurt or worse. May I ask where did this happen? Like an exact location... http://maps.google.com/
  16. Jogging & cycling, plus... fighting with my kids, and practising Adobe Premier Pro/Photoshop and now making GIFs. There's SOME good to be acknowledged from this damn virus.
  17. I'm not denying for a second that the lady is his legal mother, and probably cares for him more than his natural mother did/does. I was just biting at another member's post saying 'the boy's parents.' She is his adopted (legal) mother, and that would make the Dane his adopted stepfather.
  18. This could go on and on all day, but many TV members (and LFC fans) rarely let things drop. Luckily for me, MotoGP FP3 is about to start. You said 'this boy's parents' which means two people. Your claim now is that it's one (adopted) and the husband of that adopted mother. ???????? parents / natural parents / legal parent ???????????????? Let's agree to disagree about what 'deported' means and when it can be used. Enjoy the rest of your afternoon. ????
  19. Well, they're not his parents, but my point is only that the headline suggests deportation which I read as 'kept in custody until taken to the airport, asap.' Whereas it appears he has just had his application denied. To ME, this is not being deported until/unless the deadline has passed and the poor lad is in custody await his plane.
  20. The word 'deported' to me suggests a punishment. From reading the article it looks like they just got their application denied. I wasn't 'deported' from Australia when my residency application failed. I simply had to leave by a set deadline date.
  21. I REALLY hope that most of the country can be open without quarantine, and with bars and nightlife available, by December 1st at the latest! ???????????????? If this doesn't happen, imagine the lost revenue for westerners wanting to come for Christmas & New Year. ????
