GPO selects winning bid to supply 8.9m COVID-19 test kits
2long replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
So, they choose the lowest (price and probably quality) bidder and then wonder why "they postponed its procurement of 8.5 million antigen test kits, o test their quality after their ability to detect Covid-19 infections was cast into doubt." they can't have best quality AND best price, but it's only the immediate future of millions of Thai citizens at risk, so no worries mate! -

Yeah, vaccinate all the staff working for franchised businesses in malls owned by billionaires. But whatever you do, do not vaccinate the small local restaurant owners! Privately-owned restaurants in many provinces are suffering huge losses and have been for many months. - alcohol sales - 25/50% occupancy limits - total closures for eat ins - Grab/Lineman/FoodPanda charging 30%+ on sales! Let's get these businesses back up and running before banks and electronic goods stores in malls!

I didn't even know it had opened! I'm not a fan of Pattaya, Hua Hin, or the three main islands for tourists, but I would see more of a market for a ferry or ferries from Bangkok, Hua Hin and/or Pattaya to Koh Tao, Pha Ngan and Samui. #1 Need to wait for this Covid thing to die out #2 I guess there's too much mafia involvement for it to actually work. But I reckon there'd be more market for that, than from Pattaya to Hua Hin.

UK visitor visa was rejected \ turn down ????
2long replied to nomad2019's topic in Visas and migration to other countries
Are you sure this application isn't for MY wife? ???????????? Because she would have done the same... listened to me for as long as it took me to speak, and then taken the advice of a Thai. ???????? I sort of get where she's coming from (listening to them) but as you say she's in regular massage and could possibly have even proven it. Anyway, that is done now. Time to move on. I feel that you have plenty of grounds for appeal, and you could even claim that the agency misled your lady. However, other members will have more experience than me on how long to wait. Is the UK summer important to you? If yes, waiting 6 months might be better, and certainly from a Covid point of view. Good luck! ???????????????????????????????? -

I totally get the OP. I have a 15 year old Honda Jazz that I would never part with. But with prices so high here and so low in the UK, you'd need a damn good reason to ship it home, considering registration costs there, etc. I really hope I'm wrong and wish you well, but £2000 all in sounds too cheap. Please keep us updated, and I will follow this thread. Good luck.

Thai police detain man over death of Swiss tourist

"we have good news. It's finished" Obviously a very experienced detective. He has ensured that all other possibilities are impossible and that this guy was not forced to confess. Excellent work! ???????????????? -
'slices' ain't 'sliced' ???????? Maybe, just maybe, they made up a new word (slices) that means 'looks like sliced, but not sliced'. ????

Thousands of police mobilised to handle protesters in Bangkok on Saturday
2long replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
'intelligence'? Ha ha! Some protesters MAY try to incite unrest. That's hardly received intelligence, is it? It's just a prediction!
