  1. It would be impossible to ramp it down.......
  2. I still lock my old helmet under the seat of my even older motorcycle... neither is worth much more than a can of beans!
  3. I used to drive all the way towards Chonburi City for that sort of thing, Ang Sila I think it was, a large pier. Is this Naklua area going to be possible to drive to and park?
  4. Some people are not cut out for the service working..... especially the night shift. All day sipping on the lao khao and in need of a rest!
  5. Yes, I met a few who fell off the wagon there! Hard.....
  6. Would you expect the crowd living outside to give you that privacy, or be attempting to peer in, ready to negotiate?
  7. Well maybe someone who has just done a 6 month stint in KSA and gets off the plane to a dry Pattaya would be a bit irritated,.
  8. You too eh, I am not convinced either.
  9. I will presume you do not see the joke.... 'Mane' is a word for the longer hair around a male lion's head. (And some other animals).
  10. Their primary culture and belief is that of making money.
  11. I have recollections of them being at the Dolphin roundabout, and the North Rd/Suk junction. The latter is rather a lot of years ago. Also used to get pulled over for document checks on Suk between the Klang and Tai junctions.... foreign volunteers were often employed there. Just seemed to stop happening a decade or so ago.
  12. Is it acceptable either way? This concept of the beach being a free public area could well backfire for real.
  13. There are many who tolerate it too as they like their share of the proceeds.
  14. Yeah, but it never really took off did it... the concept of fewer numbers and spending to improve the facilities and infrastructure did not appeal. Just making it easier for less discerning tourists to enter was what happened.
  15. Wouldn't think a place would burn like that .....heck, they need an emergency exit!
  16. Perhaps these dry days are very beneficial to the many other tourist attractions around the area..... instead of sitting at a bar in Buakhao, swilling beer from 10am until falling off the stool. A trip to Nong Nooch, or a waterpark, or go see the cute Moo Daeng in Sri Racha.... enjoy a fresh passion fruit juice while walking in the sun, quite delicious!
  17. It sort of is a joke really, that back home nobody is responsible for themselves and can use the legal system to blame and extort from others.
  18. I had to go somewhere in South Jomtien yesterday from my location North of Pattaya....it is wild in some of those Jomtien streets, Threppasit, Thrappaya, Second Rd etc. I was on my motorcycle and definitely felt a bit unsafe at times, a lot of traffic on both 2 and 4 wheels, does not give much clearance. I even pondered that Jomtien is worse than Pattaya with the Russian tourists whizzing about.
  19. Seemingly young for a heart attack.... I was suspecting an internal rupture. Tragic really.
  20. You might mention the widespread and pretty much 24/7 sale of alcohol too.
  21. The glaring example that I can think of, and it has been present for decades, is where the Beach Rd turns sharp left to become South Pattaya Rd, at the entrance to Walking Street. The pavement vanishes, the pathway is blocked by M/C taxis, and you are in the path of heavy traffic including large coaches struggling to make the corner. It is a bit of a shambles.
  22. No, one further out nowadays, I think it is Udom Suk... they do stop at Bang Na too but not sure if near the BTS. My recollection is only for carry on baggage, so if you have a case in the hold you need to wait until Ekamai. Sure can be worth it as the bus is hellishly slow for those last few miles.
  23. Not sure it would be so easy with a fully grown lion either!
  24. No, but we are not discussing an extra ounce are we?
