No, I would guess crime has grown along with the town. The reporting goes up and down at the whim of those who control it.... they sometimes get told to tone down the negativity.
Yes of course, a non Thai example might be Ronan point. That too had building build quality issues of paper stuffed where mortar was required. This is what happens when QC is resolved with brown envelopes.

Yes, I was thinking the same as I drove down Hwy 36 only last night where much of the lighting was out. In a busy and high speed area, where there are many U-Turns, madness.
But it is near impossible for foreign trained doctors, non-Thai, to get licence to work in Thailand. I might expect nursing is also a reserved occupation. Most certainly it would need a licence. I expect it would be a far better job in private hospitals than public too.
