Head north on Naklua road, go past soi 27 (which is on your right) walk for a minute or two, and you will see a pharmacy clinic. He sells 20 tramadol for 100 baht. Many other places will charge much more.

Incidentally, even at 20 for 100, he is making 50-60 baht.

Avoid the clinic on the right hand side - they will charge 300baht for 20, not including a 100b doctor fee.

    Hi

Useful post, I used to live on soi 27, aware of the clinic.

So is the pharmacy you mention on the same side of naklua road, just further up from the clinic or on the opposite side of the road ?

Now living soi bukhao, I will try here first but if that fails will take a ride over to naklua.

Is tramadol more effective than ibufrofen?

    Thanks

  2. Hi

    I have a question please.

I have more or less decided on the chair I want, similar to Swiss' choice, same brand "Ray"

Something I am wondering about, with a solid back is it likely to make you feel hot ?

I currently use a wooden chair, old fashioned hotel type and with a fan aimed at my back, does not make me feel hot.

Someone suggested a cloth chair with mesh back, available here.

I have air con and do in fact use it a lot for my own personal comfort so maybe not a major issue.

    Any thoughts please.

    Thanks

  3. Hi

I guess you are talking about already being on it from within naklua as it approaches the roundabout ?

In which case it does carry on to Beach Road, yes.

I moved from naklua a while back but am fairly confident that has not changed.

It could head up pattaya nua for a short distance before doing a U turn to head back.To Beach Road

I've lived in Patts for 15 years and never seen 80 baht massages...the cheapest I've seen is 100-125 but those are the "jack shacks" who just want to entice people in the door and "up sell" them additional services.

Yes, similar length of time here  and also not seen 80bht massages until recently.

    Both you and scuba correct.

Enjoy your photos, even though they are a sign of very hard times.

    Thanks

  5. Hi

Is this Big C branch still  open ?

If so, anyone know if they still do free delivery on Purchase above 1 K.?

I have moved and it is fairly near me .2 bahtbus  away.

I realise things can change quickly, their website shows as still being open for shopping.

    Any recent experience ?

    Thank You

  6. Hi Thaiflyer

Thank you so much for the clear answers and photos.

I agree with you on the poor value of the paid for seating.

Table and chairs fine by me.

My decision made, I will go, maybe next week end.

I will actually arrange to see if a lady will meet me there.

Overall cost high but I generally live quite modestly so not an issue to pay more for something I consider "special".

    Cheers

I ventured  out 5pm yesterday.............went to 3 Mermaids Cafe on Pratamak Hill...........about 100 people there , 90 % were thai...........looking round masks worn but under the chin.....i kept mine fully on

Next stop was Jomtien bar (no names) had maybe 20 customers at 7pm....no masks worn

Last stop Beer Hub Soi Boukhao 8-10pm.............quiet ,maybe 10 customers.....all had masks

I know i should be holed up in the house...........and will be for the next week...........just needed to get out for a few hours.

Nice view from 3 Mermaids by the way.......

    Hi Thaiflyer

Interesting thanks, up until about a month ago I had not even heard of 3 Mermaids. I only became aware due to a Thai lady sending me links to photos as she had just visited. Added to your own I think the place looks lovely.

A question please, I have not yet been but fancy a visit.

Going by photos the place seems more than big enough to handle 100 customers.

If I went would I still be able to find a decent spot to sit with a view?

Am I right in thinking I would be able to have a beer or wine there? I am prepared to try a meal there also.

    Thank You

  8. It seems like good news to me. I like going to restaurants for meals ( sometimes )

Although I live in naklua booked some nights to stay on soi bukhao.

One of the resaons was good choice of restaurants .IMO .Better than naklua by quite a stretch.

I have managed to try a few of the places that have been mentioned in the Pattaya restaurant review thread as well as just generally helpful people giving useful suggestions when I talk about the subject.

I also think it will help the restaurants, many of which I am sure are struggling.

  9. Hi

    Many Thanks for answers.

Overall by the sound of it I would be fine there.

I would be taking a lady friend from Pattaya so not intereted in HH ladies.

She loves the beach and swimming, hence the hotel with pool questions.

At least 3 or 4 Italian restaurants mentioned.

    That is fine for me.

It is also quiet here in naklua, I actually quite like the calmer atmosphere.

Thanks again, I got good help from here.

  10. Hi

i am thinking of a weekend break in Hua Hin.

A few questions re. bars/restaurants and accommodation.  Maybe someone can help pls.

Background to me, live in naklua ( Pattaya) for 11 years.

I have only visited Hua Hin once, about 5 years ago.

    I liked it.

Restaurants ( yes I will take a look at the thread) I like both Italian and French food.

On my prior visit I went to 2 different Italian restaurants, food and service was good.

Are there some still open ?

Bars, some place laid back and relaxed would do.  Will I still have a reasonable choice ?

I stayed on soi bintabit(sp) last time, that was fine.

In a guesthouse but thinking of a hotel this time.

The Hilton deal sounds good, I know where it is.

A hotel with a swimming pool near the beach would be good.

Budget, last time I paid 800 baht for the GH I stayed at.

I would be OK with paying up to 2K a night for a nice hotel, perhaps a touch more.

It must be within easy walk from bars and restaurants  .My mobility is not so good.

    Appreciate any help

    Thanks

Siamburi's, on top of soi Khao Talo, search for it on Facebook.

It's a little bit far to go for most people, unless you live in that soi. However, they always have good offers, so it might be worth the trip.

    yes you are right.

I had heard of them but have never been, don't have my own transport.

    I got lucky though.

I was chatting to a Brit expat here, who I have known some time.Somewhat of a food shopping expert

Asked where I might be able to buy the items I wanted.

Siamburis was the answer. He is a helpful person, visits there once or twice a week and is happy to take orders and deliver them back to naklua.

He brought me back a couple of items and next time I see him, will order some more.

Looked on their facebook page, very good range and some great prices.

A quick thanks to those that have taken the time to answer on this thread.

    More or less sorted.

  12. Hi

Which do you think is better ?

In terms of western products, especially ready to eat. Sandwiches, pies etc.

Do either do things like pork pies/scotch eggs etc.

Genuine question, live in naklua but currently not very mobile.

Fully aware they are very close to each other.

    Thanks for any useful views.

  13. Hi

Firstly  genuine thanks to those who took the time to respond with quite clear instructions.

I did try but could not resolve the issue myself so called in a Thai IT guy.

he thought he had solved the problem within 5 minutes of arrival but not so.

Then stated that the wifi in building was not working, suggested he log in via his smartphone using my password.

He did so and then admitted the wifi was indeed working.

He then said that my clock was wrong, even I know that is surely not going to affect connection.

( I have my computer clock set on UK time, always have done.)

He insisted on changing it and language to Thai.

No difference, I did then say that according to posts here, he needed to go in to Registry and make some changes there ( I had tried myself but failed ) Then again I am no computer technician.

He did so and eventually re established connection.

I had to ask how long he had been fixing/working on computers to which he replied 10 years but had never used WIN 10.

Not really impressed, with his service, perhaps I am being harsh.

Problem solved for now and at least I have learned a little.

    Thanks again

  14. Hi

I wonder if someone could give a suggestion please.

I am trying to find a computer techician who does home calls.Used to be oe that I knew who was good but he has moved away I believ.

Brief description of problem, cannot access internet ( wif/shared ) where I live.

Error message is DNS server not responding.

Works in a little cafe that has wifi though.

The internet does work in the apartment building I am in, just not for me.

    No idea why.

Thanks in advance, just need someone to come round and sort it out, same problem has happened before and it took the Thai IT guy who came only a few minutes to sort out the problem.

    He no longer here though.

    Cheers
