  1. Hi

I hope that goes well, as the more variety the better as far as I`m concerned and there appears to be almost no where to go to listen to jazz in Pattaya.

Is jazz played later than 11.00 PM there?

    Any where else they play?

Somewhere to go on a Saturday night would be good.

  3. I used to be a regular at Valentinos but I really don't think it is better than a place like Volterra, and somewhat higher prices as well.

    Hi

Has Volterra got an outside dining area ?

if so, would there be a lot of traffic noise ?

I`ve never been and do not know that area, might consider a visit.

    Thanks.smile.png

  4. I enjoy Mata Hari for a treat. Hilton Buffet is top value.

I want to plug Valentinos again - seriously nobody out there tried this place?? Near Foodland. He's been there years and it's pretty good IMO.

Hi Yes, I went there very recently.I thought it was the best Italian food in Pattaya of the places I`ve tried.A mistake made on the order, genuine mis understanding I think and no harm done.Food and setting excellent.

  5. Give Thailand a miss and go live in Cambodia.

You can put your money in a USD account with any of the big banks in Phnom Phen and get circa 7 to 8% per annum at call. If you open an account in the local currency you will get 11%. That would equate to 14 to 15K USD per year income- on which you could live like a lord in a location such as Kampot.

You will also find it much easier to start a small business or get a job in Cambo. The paperwork required to pursue either of these options is now rather absurd in Thailand.

No doubt lots of TV posters will tell you what a huge risk the Cambodian banks are. But the same blokes probably haven't put their minds to the risks that could assail their Thai bank accounts when the unmentionable suddenly occurs.

    Hi

Is there any chance of a link or a lead to a Cambodian based bank paying 7-8 % on call US$ accounts ?

I can find 7 % on KMR time deposit and 4.25 on US $ time deposit but not 7-8 % on US $ call accounts.

    Thank You.smile.png

  6. I liked your report, managed to read it OK, although noticed the font has been changed to make it easier.

Quite straight forward really, I flew BKK to Udon Thani then onwards by bus, spoke to a couple in Vientiane who were returning to BKK by train which held some appeal, didn`t fit in with my return route/schedule though.

    Maybe another time.

I liked Vientiane, some nice restaurants and bars, stayed a few days.

    Report appreciated, thanks.smile.png

  7. Hi

There was a feature on a Pattaya news channel last night featuring someone living in the Lake Mabprachan area and running a Canine Sanctuary.

He seemed to care for the( stray) dogs in the Pattaya area.

A google search should provide further details, maybe he can offer some advice or help?
