i wish someone would pickle the pair of them. They add nothing to the protest

Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war..... anything to get rid of current Shindigs (Shinawatra Party)
Not for me..... for the future of my kids, in case they defy my wishes and settle in Thailand.
Incidentally, the Shakespeare quote comes from his play Julius Caesar, where another ambitious megalomaniac overreached his populist mandate, and the whole thing ended in tears. There are in fact many parallels between Julius Caesar and Thaksin.
Beware the Ides of March!!!!

And none of the above criticise the senate members for not turning up, facilitating continued protest and unrest.......tunnel vision at its best
I think that in a case such as this, absolutely all the senators should be there to cast a vote.
Given that by the very nature of their jobs they live in all provinces of the country, giving them a day's notice to be there was unprofessional as well as undemocratic.
Your post, therefore, is balderdash!
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app
"absolutely all senators there to cast a vote"
Right......and when you wake up how do you think in the bright light of the Thai day
You may also take into account it is reported that a group of 40 senators are said to have boycotted the debate, mentioning "outside person" was lobbying senators to bring forward the amnesty bill debate in a bid to put a quick end to the political protests
Rather suggests your post is embarrassing and my initial post rather more linked to reality
I think Thaksin's tentacles stretch to the Senate

Dont do it!!!!
Thailand is definitely no longer the same place as it was 20 years ago. A lot more violent, a lot more traffic, same old corruption.
Think twice..... and then think again

this is going to take a little longer to process.
The proposal must first go to this guy who will pass it up or along to this guy, then that guy must pass it o to the other guy who in turn needs to get approval from that guy. When approval is granted, the same guy must move it along to that guy who in turn passes it to some other guy. That guy needs to take it to the top guy who doesn't know anything about it so he passes it to his guy and so on and so on and so on and so on...............................
Normally, yes. But with the Shinawatres in complete control of government, anything the Chinese want will be fast-tracked.
As a Chines official recently said " chinese have a better understanding of Thai politics"
Indeed they do: high level corruption is a deeply ingrained cultural tradition in both countries.

I would guess he was an inexperience rider, probably his 1st time on a bike and going to fast. Who rents a 500CC bike to a 15 yr old child? Did the child even have a licence, somehow I doubt it very much. These rental companies have a degree of duty of care to ensure that their customers are licenced and not just for their safety but also for other road users.
Neither one of them probably had a license. The shock will come when the hospital bill is presented; as far as I know most insurance companies will not pay a cent if you ride without a license (and many companies specifically exclude cover for riding bikes abroad).
Maybe Daddy will keep an eye on them once he feels the pain in his wallet

Oh good, Direcor General of Police orders his boys to enforce the law for 15 days, after which "business" as usual. Par for the course....

Chinese tourists should not be allowed to step outside their hotel rooms without a tour guide, let alone swim or cross roads unnaccompanied by an adult. I dare not think about allowing them to drive cars or rent motorbikes.

I do wai regularly, but Thailand being a very feudal/hierarchichal society means that you should get your wai right. I would say above nose for royalty and monks, just touching nose for MiL and venal bureaucrats who who are candidates for a bribe; around the mouth for subordinates at work if you are not encumbered

Where does PTP dig up trash like Plod? There must be a lot of lead paint in parliament!

I do find that the fact of having half thai kids makes it difficult to be an apologist.
If I were single, with no real ties to the country, I wouldn't give a flying <deleted> about the place.
The lack of common sense and ethics in government would just add to the rich tapestry of life in a failed state, as long as my assets are in farangland. Som nam na to the inhabitants who elect an unprincipled government, or at least stand by in the creation of an underclass of semi literate morons.
However, contemplating the future of my kids in the LOS does make me cynical, and hard not to vent frustrations.

jolly good idea..... it will make those pesky chinese shake in fear when they decide that the thai/chinese takeaway is ready to be served. In the meantime, I suggest that Yingluck creates another 18 airforce generals to manage the fleet.

I am strongly in favour of reciprocal rights to immigration and things such as property ownership.
If thailand does not allow spouses of thais to work, then the same should apply to Thais in the UK.
Similarly, if farangs cannot buy property in thailand, then thais should not be able to buy property in Farangland.
Just imagine if thai pooh yais cannot buy a bolthole in their favourite bit of Farangland? Thai laws would change overnight.....!

Idea for joint promotion with Kingpower: buy one kg of premium thai rice on departure, get a free voucher for an hour of autopsy watching.
How to invest 7 million BHT ?
in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments

I would open an online account at Ktzmico, and invest 1 mil in 4-5 Thai companies (major banks, etc maybe?) and hold 1 mil in cash at the best local interest rate, waiting for the fall of Shinism.
Then I would open an online trading account at Interactive Brokers or any other cheap brokerage, and transfer the rest of the money there, holding 25% in cash. Subscribe to Motley Fool stock advisor, read that for a while before you get carried away, and follow their advice, using only a small portion for the more speculative investment ideas.
I think that 7-10% is possible but by no means guarranteed.
Best advice: if it sounds too good to be true, it probably isnt true.
Thats my honest best advice
