Returning Aussie Visa requirements
Lemsta69 replied to aussiexpat's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
this is probably off-topic by what kind of car do you own? I don't know much about Harley owners but the stereotype would suggest that your car is something big and beefy, HSV Senator maybe? ???? ps. I don't drive anymore but I like flashy cars that go fast. -

hi jack, what about if you pull the excess 400k out after 3 months, will the subsequent top-up 400k also need to be shown as foreign source? -

that's correct, but the $800k does need to be in the bank on the day you apply for the 90 day non-O. -

hard to argue with those over-zealous check-in staff eh? I don't know about Bleak City but here in the Emerald City the check-in staff aren't airline employees, they're employed by an airport services company or something. so they're probably just reading off of a script rather than being well-versed in the intricacies. -

usually it's the check-in counter that will ask for it. I got asked about it on my last trip from SYD-BKK although that was a few years ago now (Dec 2014). my return leg was at 35 days so I just told them I'd extend at immi. which I didn't because I couldn't be stuffed going all the way to that silly Chaeng Wattana place. dunno why they don't have an office near the Khao San Road ???? I'll be using that rent-a-ticket service that's been mentioned in this forum a few times. just to cover my you know what. too much hassle trying to do it at the airport. -

thanks mate, this is really useful info. I was originally going to get a tourist visa but after this post I'm tending towards visa on arrival ... oops, visa exemption so as to save precious space in my ridiculously overpriced nanny state passport ???? -

hi Sheryl, the devs have released a patched version of the Android app (v1.0.1) but it's not available on the Play Store yet. you have to download the .apk file from Google drive. further details can be found on any of the one star reviews in the Play Store -

good plan. Qantas pilots will have remembered where the gear stick is by then. -

g'day Jack. by "opening up again soon" what timeframe are you thinking of? what I've read is that ScoMo is talking about Movember to restart international travel but it will only be to limited "safe" destinations at first. Thailand not on that list of course. I'm looking at skipping town in late November (SYD-BKK) and fully expect to have to apply for the travel exemption. -
that was fascinating. no sarcasm intended. I had no opinion on Apple products prior to my first encounter with one, an iPad in 2011. as soon as in started using it I felt that something was off about it. now I know why I got that premonition ????

ThailandPlus App - Registration Issues
Lemsta69 replied to Carrbhoy's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
g'day mate. the devs, such as they are, responded to my one-star review on the Play Store with the URL for a pre-release patched version of the app, v1.0.1, hosted on Google Drive. I downloaded the APK file from their gdrive folder and installed it on my Sammy S21+ but can't fully test it because I don't have my COE yet. but the app a least opened and let me take a propic and then let me get as far as entering the COE access code. I won't post the link here because I'm not sure about the rules but you should be able to find it on the Play Store by looking up the bad reviews. it's not a hyperlink so you'll have to input manually if you're keen enough. -
Bye Bye WISE, WESTERN UNION, VISA, etc
Lemsta69 replied to Neeranam's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
hey man thanks for the detailed response, that's really helpful. and yeah I'm dumping my CROw as soon as I get it for whatever takes my fancy at the time. anything but that Kris Marszalek <bleep>coin that he forced on us. RIP MCO ???? I use the exchange to convert my CRO, in-app spreads are disgraceful. I messed around with OKEx once or twice but they don't have any CRO trading pairs apart from USDT so exchange is easier despite the 0.4% trading fee. -

how widely accepted is the CdC card in LOS and do you often get hit with surcharges? I haven't been over since December 2014 so I'm just a wee bit out of touch. that's the only reason I'm inflicting this forum upon myself, hopefully find some buried gold ???? -
