  1. Indeed, Meat is Murder. Sure tastes good but.
  2. Simply stating facts. If you spent less time posting drivel and more time actually reading this forum then you wouldn't have needed to leave your pointless complaint about acronyms. It was discussed in some detail in a recent "not another tax topic". Here, I'll spoon feed it to you... https://aseannow.com/topic/1312534-taxation-of-ex-pats-pensions-etc/?do=findComment&comment=18510750
  3. Everyone should know what CRS means by now because it is brought up frequently in the other tax-related threads. This is clearly a tax-related thread so pointless being here if you're not up to speed. As to the OP's question, sorry bro but i have neither the time nor the inclination to give you the tl;dr, you'll have to locate the other tax threads and grind through the hundred plus pages yourself.
  4. Dude, you're not supposed to give a serious response to a troll post 🤦
  5. Do they still have the free "CBI" water bottles? I was last there in September and thought it was a nice touch.
  6. When I was here before as a tourist on and off between 1997 and 2014 I had more hits than misses viz foreign food. Note that I said foreign, not Western. It was not at all like ordering Mexican in France. If that's been your experience it's probably because you're too tight to spring for a proper meal. As I already mentioned, under proper supervision Thai cooks can make very decent non-Thai food. Eg. had loads of tasty "English breakfasts" up and down the country, mostly in Pattaya (in the old days before the good places went under). As for your recommendations, well I already said I don't like Thai food, it's too simplistic and more than a few of the dishes are inedible because of their obsession with chili, so not sure why you mentioned Lanna Thai except to show off. Good steak is expensive. I know this because I grew up in Sydney when meat was relatively cheap and I've had (almost) the full gamut from cheap pub lunches to Aussie Wagyu filet. Couldn't afford much beyond that but the good stuff that I did get to eat was delicious, mostly eye filet cooked medium rare and so soft you barely needed to chew it. So I can't take your Don Muaeng recommendation seriously. You're a miser that thinks mutton tastes like lamb. Reckon I'll save up my pennies and try one of the posh places instead. In the meantime I'll talk to some of the more sensible BMs and see if they've got any actual useful recommendations.
  7. I would have expected you to have made some lewd joke about already having eaten some 'hoi' earlier.
  8. Gotcha. Thanks for the explanation. Farang mate's wife's auntie used to have a salon/laundry halfway up the soi so I only know it as "Chaiyapoom" or however it's spelt. I guess Pothole is easier to say than the Thai name, and it is a busted-up heap of crap so the name fits. PS. Why do they call it Excite? Just kidding, I am that old 😹
  9. Another childish response, as expected. I've been coming here since mid-1997, tried all sorts of Thai food, even live miniature shrimp and fried grasshoppers. This was on my previous travels up and down the country that you accused me of never having undertaken. If you like it then fine, knock yourself out and pretend that you are in touch with the locals and all that lost soul nonsense you keep banging on about. Me, I prefer foreign food to Thai food. When supervised properly, Thai cooks can prepare those cuisines very well, one of the reasons I like spending time in Bangkok and Pattaya because there is such a great range of decent non-Thai food at reasonable prices if you're not on a local's slave wage. Or should I say was, this time around either the quality has gone down or my perception has changed after being away for seven years or so and eating very tasty food in Sydney. O maybe it's because I've been going to the wrong places. Happy to take serious recommendations that don't involve robbing a bank to pay for, and no I'm not interested in 69 baht slop on a plate.
  10. I've yet to eat in a real fancy joint because right at this point in time I simply cannot afford it. I wonder if they're all that they're cracked up to be? Eg. B*sc*tti across the road from my gaff is touted as being one of the best Italian joints in town but when I look at their lunch menu it doesn't grab me by the short and curlies. Maybe if they chucked in a half carafe of wine with the meal but that's not an option so a Double Quarter Pounder meal it is.
  11. 1. stayed at a 1000 baht per night hotel 2. ate a 100 baht curry 3. spoke to a farang 4. visited a popular area with thousands of tourists the excitement darn near killed me, will have to retreat to the boonies to recover.
  12. Was this in Bangers or Patts? I've been going out a bit more in Bangkok with a Pommy mate and I'm finding it to be quite poor value for money. Also the quality is hit and miss. One day the Lamb Hyderabadi Biryani tastes like heaven and the next it's all dried out and inedible. This is in the ฿300-฿500 per plate range, I'm not as rich as you Bogs do can't afford to eat the 6k+ Michelin star joints.
  13. Untruths/mistranslations, say what? It's one hundred percent correct and yes if course I'm an "Islamophobe". You know that that's just a woke term for kufr, right? You know what that kufr means unbeliever, right? Or are you going to claim that that's a misinterpretation or a mistranslation? And you know what fair is in store for the kufr/dhimmi, right? You should be quaking with fear at the thought of what's in store for you when Al Khalifa comes to a town near you. As for your final question, yes of course I'd prefer to stay alive but I haven't been brainwashed from birth into believing that Shahid/Jihad is the true path to paradise. You're awfully naive for someone who spends so much time on here telling us how clever they are.
  14. You still don't get it dude, the adherents of the religion of pieces welcome death. Shihad give you instant entry into Al Jannah even if you've just beheaded a baby or are a serial rapist or murderer or worse, if you held hands with your girlfriend in public. Islam doesn't mean peace, it means "surrender to the will of Allah" and once you're in you're in, apostasy is punishable by, wait for it...death. Sounds like a fkn Slayer song. So you should be happy every time a Palestinian Muslim dies, safe in the knowledge that they're on an express elevator to the awaiting houris. For the males of fighting age* anyway, not sure what the women and children get but it's probably sweet FA given what they're entitled to during their earthly lives. * not exactly sure what that age is, I think 10 and above? Or big enough to hold a Kalashnikov? 🤷
  15. I'm a bit out of touch with all the new-fangled names for Pattaya so is, where the hell is Soi Pothole?
  16. Found it! Goggle search for aseannow.com "multiple entry"... https://aseannow.com/topic/1310614-more-multiple-entry-non-o-woes/?do=findComment&comment=18483097
  17. A recent thread that I can't quickly locate suggests that MENO is no longer available from London. This was apparently confirmed in an email from the Embassy after the poster noted that the "Multiple" option was no longer available in the no. of entries drop-down box.
  18. it's referred to a a multiple-entry non-O, not a "one-year non-O" and this option was already covered by @lineofentry above.
  19. Brave stopped working for this guy so your point is "mute".
  20. Satang.com is now orbixtrade.com and this is what I just got in the Android app when trying to do KFC as a "Foreign person": "404 Page not found" Cannot take screenshot due to security policy.
  21. No, it didn't "make them cry", they used the "Sad" emoji to tell you that your post was sad/irrelevant/unhelpful. OP wanted MS Office, not Google Docs.
  22. Ukrainians aren't adherents of a sadistic, violent death cult and are therefore deserving of our sympathy. You're fooling yourself if you think there's anything benign about the religion of pieces.
