Yeah that's why I thought too but thanks for confirming that land exit, TR in VTE and land return is an option for @Stevey
Still a pain but cheaper than flying or Ed Visa.
If it's a credit card, yes. If it's a debit card, no, not yet. Both card types can do what you've described however I suspect you've got a debit card so you'll have to wait like the rest of us plebs ????
This website is very useful for comparing exchange rates in Bangkok. If the free airport WiFi is still a thing you can use it to see how the airport rates compare.
Last time I exchanged money there was a very long time ago but I used this site to ascertain that the Super Rich airport rate was a touch lower than 1) their HQ on Ratchadamri and 2) Vasu's rate. Vasu are located near Nana BTS so easily accessible by SkyTrain from airport.
If you're changing 20k EUR and the spread is say when as small as say 0,2 baht that's a 4k loss.

OP mentioned that Nong Khai IO told him he had to fly to VTE for TR then fly back.
That doesn't sound right to me, surely he can exit via Friendship Bridge, get his tourist visa at the Consulate in Vientiane then return via land to Thailand.
Wasn't it just Poi Pet that refused exit to visa exempters?
Also would he need to make an appointment for his tourist visa or have they scrapped that already?
I did some Googling because I was curious but I came away more confused than when I started! ????
You could do the same but if I was in your position I wouldn't be in the slightest bit worried about the legality. The police don't have the time or the personnel to conduct door-to-door searches of properties in Bangkok to check if there's any dodgy Airbnb stuff going on. You'd have to be reported by one of the other tenants in the condo. It's a condo, right?
You're staying for 6 months and you sound like a nice guy so I doubt you're going to be throwing wild parties and annoying the neighbours. If anyone in the condo asks what you're doing there then just tell them you're on a 6 month rental contract.
Re the TM30, your host seems to have indicated that he will "provide information" about TM30 so you can do it yourself. As we've discussed earlier, yes you can submit TM30 as the tenant. Maybe you can ask him for more information about how you can do the TM30 before you arrive so that you are prepared. If he doesn't give you a login and password then I guess you'll be making a trip to Chaeng Wattana as soon as you arrive in BKK.
NFC Yes, but you might not need an internet connection to use it at the shops.

I loved using my phone to pay for cr#p when I was back in Australia but sometimes it was difficult for me to find the sweet spot on the phone (I'm a klutz) so I always brought my physical card with me as a backup so I wouldn't get yelled at for holding up the line ????
"And the child began to lust after opening the account, receiving a masseuse from the bank that the use of the limit was extended to 500,000 baht, so there was fear...."
Google Translate, you just made my day! ????
Hi Joe, how does one go about changing one's registered address? I'm moving condos in a few months and would like to be prepared in advance. I'm in Bangkok and new condo will also be Bangkok.
Is it simply a matter of the condo office submitting a TM30 or is something else required?
A friend who owns a house has just registered his place via the online portal and he sent me a screenshot of the "FNHOTELFORM30" page but it doesn't have a field for declaring the property as your permanent address so as usual I am very confuse ????
Roadhouses wouldn't know what good coffee was if it came up and slapped them in the face! ????
ps. I doubt that most coffee joints in Australia really know their stuff. You need to go to the right places to get the good stuff and that's usually CBD or where all the wo...I mean New Australians hang out.
All of Italy will disagree with you on the milk is milk statement. Coffee is almost a religion over there.
Also ask my Mum, and will tell you that anything but a flat white is undrinkable.
C'mon man I've been here long enough to know what you can get for 100 baht, I was just having a laugh.
As for the coffee, an espresso is simply a single shot of black coffee from the Italian machine. Well it's actually not that simple to get it perfect but that's another story. All I'll say is if it comes in a takeaway cup and/or doesn't have a nice 'crema' then I'm not interested ????
A flat white is, well that's hard to explain so I'll let Wikipedia do the heavy lifting...

No it's not just coffee and milk. The milk needs to be frothed and poured a particular way. It's not a cappuccino without chocolate dusting, nor is it a latte.
