A copy will suffice. You can get miniature laminated copies made up at a photo shop. Passport photo page on one side, permission to stay stamp on the other. Or you could keep a copy on your phone. Worked for me the other night when I got stopped at an APEC checkpoint at the end of my soi.

Thankfully it's over and done with now and I can safely order Grab food at night without it being delayed by road closures and checkpoints. I had to go out and hunt down my pizza the other night, the cops decided to park ALL their minivans in my soi and the Grab guy got stuck behind one of them. Needless to say it was cold by the time I got it back to the room ????

Well I'm glad to hear it's a bit more civilized these days. I had to get off the bus at Ekkamai because some stupid foreigner (not farang) was sitting in someone else's seat and refused to move despite being asked by the ticket lady. She ended up in tears because of the way he was talking to her. I didn't want to be on a bus for two hours with such a horrible person so I got off and caught the next bus. Then I never took another Ekkamai bus after that for twenty-odd years ????
