  1. I did some digging when it went red into two subjects 1) AZ acceptance and 2) red list. What I stumbled on was the red list has a scientific committee doing assessments and they concluded that Thailand was not undertaking/sharing enough reliable covid data for a positive assessment to be made.
  2. If you are needing to travel back "not red" would mean you can just do 5 days isolation at a place of your choosing with test and release instead of 10 days locked in the gulag.
  3. My pet leave is foreign transfers (with SCB). App does not allow foreigners to make them (it literally says "Thai national only" when I click on it), have to go to bank fill in very long and antiquated BOT form and process takes about 30 minutes. Stone Age.
  4. The travellers covid locator info form you have to fill out requires details of 10 days prior travel. Saying that the article is NOT about the red list. There could still be another red list announcement today but the fact that FCO advice on Thailand mentions COVID makes dropping from the red list seem more far less likely than before.
  5. From the BBC article: "The government is also expected to announce on Thursday changes to the red list. There are currently 54 destinations on the list, including Mexico, Cuba, all of mainland South America, and southern and eastern Africa." So its not dead in the water yet, still 24 hours to go. He says living in ill concealed hope.
  6. Ah well, we lived in hope. Saying that the article is NOT about the red list. There could still be a red list announcement today (as the BBC says in its article on this change of FCO advice) but the fact that FCO advice on Thailand mentions COVID makes dropping from the red list seem more far less likely than it could have been before.
  7. With Lazada I now stick to established suppliers. I have a 99% good experience but have had two scammy episodes which really put me off. I did get my money back in the end but I just don't want to go through that kind of stuff.
  8. Other articles on other sites are referring specifically to the charge being on " foreign tourists"
  9. The truth is 99.9% of Thais probably think this is a great move, charge the foreigners for everything and not the Thai. Thats the mentality.
  10. I can't take anything Korn says seriously after he complained that his kids had to pay for medical treatment in London. Another elite waste of my time who has multiple agendas that I do not have enough money to be capable of understanding.
  11. In a country that seems unwilling to sucessfully prosecute elites that may be murderers of police, may be killers and eaters of protected species, may be illegal importers, may be scammers and law breakers extraordinaire, may have slaughtered innocents in nightclubs, may have spread covid from dens of pretty iniquity WHY would they be bothered by the exposure of a few offshore assets and accounts.
  12. Oh dear ... how do you see the truth when .... a) can't trust media b) can't trust police c) can't trust wife who parties and knows both fighting parties d) can't trust Swiss guy as he is obviously an invalid party e) don't know any background of either "relationship"
  13. I can live on 50 a month but its usually unexpected costs and treats that trash my budget.
  14. Agree look like a squashed bed bug after its engorged blood.
  15. As an added complication (although I personally don't know if it has anything to do with the UK stance but I suspect so) Thai AZ has still not been approved by the WHO which complicates the issue. It has now been submitted for approval by AZ, which is better than the situation we were in last month. AZ dropped the ball here, they have only submitted it for approval in September. The latest from WHO which was updated a few days ago...... https://extranet.who.int/pqweb/sites/default/files/documents/Status_COVID_VAX_29Sept2021_0.pdf (Thailand has been added with a "to be confirmed" notation since the last update at the end of August, so presumably will get the OK any day)
  16. Telegraph and Guardian, I read in. They are not saying Thailand will come off the list just the RED list will be reduced to just 9 countries.
  17. Everything in the country is not always about farangs. This is a tourist trip, mainly taken by Thais.
  18. I say good for you, I enjoyed reading that. Don't be disheartened by so many negative commentators, they have skin in the game so to speak and are being tribal.
  19. Agreed but with test and release it makes a 5 day stay at home or a relatives house seem much more doable than the current methodology. UK Gov site .... "Passengers who aren’t recognised as being fully vaccinated with authorised vaccines and certificates under England’s international travel rules, will still have to take a pre-departure test, a day 2 and day 8 PCR test and self-isolate for 10 days upon their return from a non-red list country under the new two-tiered travel programme. Test to Release will remain an option for unvaccinated passengers who wish to shorten their isolation period. From late October, we will also be making changes to allow passengers who change flights or international trains during their journey to follow the measures associated to their country of departure, rather than any countries they have transited through as part of their journey."
  20. Trying to defeat mother nature is a hard task, frought with failures. She will win the end.
