I think the crux to this is how you earn your income, if UK payroll PAYE then asking your employer to pay you as an invoiced consultant or whatever directly offshore without tax deducted would negate the need for the future UK tax bill (obviously dont exceed the UK allowed working days if you are using test 1 of non-resident test). Obviously Thailand is very lax on checks at this end, which makes tax avoidance very "easy" esp if you are over 50 or take the elite option if you are willing to fund that. I would say a large portion of Brits do this already. I have no experience with the split year.

I don't disagree with you, but a not bit out of the frying pan into the fire :+) -
With Emirates its mainly A380s so you know what the standard is, with Qatar you need to check what plane they are going to fly on your route, they still have some "lesser" planes. This esp relevant if you are flying in business.

The Thai Astrazeneca is not officially recognised by the WHO either. As of 19 August Astra had NOT been submitted to WHO for recognition. The ones (Astra vaccines) recognised by WHO are UK, Europe, Korea, Japan, Australia, USA, China. Astrazeneca Thailand needs to pull out its finger, it promised it was going to apply on 20 August but has been silent since then on registration. They seem to be arguing that a name change to Vazrevria should be the way to go but WHO already recognises the name. Astra and its other partners have shot themselves in the foot by already registering different countries of manufacture as stand alone vaccines. They have given the UK an excuse to hide behind. Both UK and Astra are to blame for this, not Thailand. -

Hi, I just went to my local SCB to enquire about an 800K bank letter, I am going for an extension of stay next week. All I got was blank looks and shrugs. Has anyone used an SCB near to Sukhumvit 49 (Bangkok) for the bank letter? Or knows what the Thai name for the letter is? A million thanks.

Does anyone have a link to all the documents you need to take for an OA extension? I have mine coming up. -
In all honesty I don't think regular Joes give a hoot about it. To me it's about the elites controlling the market to their advantage and right wing xenophobia. As long as Thailand adopts these protectionist approaches it will always be questionable destination to invest. Is it free capitalist market or not? No it's not.
