Cash advance with debit card question
Hopefully you are using a debit card that does not charge a foreign transaction fee. Charles Schwab and CapitalOne and some credit unions offer cards with out that fee.

Cash advance with debit card question
I think it does not matter if you have an account at the bank where you choose to do a cash advance. As long as you don't mind walking out with all the cash you received. I would suggest being a customer is likely to make it easier for the bank to say yes. In the land of the free I often got cash advances at banks where I was not a customer. I can't give a positive response to your query. I can only say that I've asked at SCB, Kasikorn and Land and House banks. None of them were able/willing to do a cash advance.

just a reminder, they will ******* kill you
I'm annoyed more by the farangs that drive carelessly because most of them DO know better. I have to cut the locals a little slack because they probably were never taught to give safety a high priority.

'The Country Was Thriving': Joe Rogan Says That 'More Things Were Getting Done' When Donald Trump Was President — Unemployment Was Down, Regulations Relaxed. Is He Right?
You mean the Republican led Ways and Means committee that is just another government funded proxy for the Trump 2024 campaign? Oh no... they're not lying... why would they?

Is it possible to send funds from Dee Money to a Wise Account?
I suggest you copy the details of your Wise account, then forward them to Dee money and ask them if those details represent an acceptable destination for a Dee money transfer. The horse's mouth is better than AN guesses.

Certificate of residence in english from immigration?
If you're collecting US social security with a Thai address, you can request a proof of benefit letter using an online SSA account. It will show your Thai address in English of course. You can download the letter and print it. The letter will have SSA's letterhead. The letter will be dated on the day you request it. Unfortunately it will include your benefit amount and your Medicare number. You may not want to spread around those details.

Such a shame - My yearly trip to Calif. Cities to avoid
Even 35 years ago the falls in Yosemite didn't look so great after July. If you went just before COVID, did you go in Sep/Oct of 2019? The weather would be nice and the crowds much smaller but the river flows would have declined significantly.

Stampede out of THB?
I love how the bottom part of a chart gets cut off so that minor changes in the top 1% of the chart look monstrous!

Is Phat Kaphrao worth a try?
Yeah... probably not grapao. The leaves in the OP's picture could be holopah, but they do look a little too wide. I married my Thai wife in USA and lived there with her for 21 years. Bai grapao was very hard to find so my wife used regular sweet basil for this dish. It was a pretty reasonable substitute, in fact better than regular Thai basil. As is normal for her, she trimmed off most of the fat from the chicken and or pork she used. She also cut back on the added sugar. The basil and chilli's came from our back yard usually just minutes before cooking. Pud grapao is still one of my favorites but I like it made with ½ pork and ½ chicken and with normal Thai level of heat. Some times with 2cm pieces of long beans added.

Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part I
The tax treaties are unlikely to be ignored by any Thai government. I checked the US/Thai treaty to learn about treaty termination. Either party can withdraw from the treaty with 6+ months notice.

Amazon offers some really cheap options. Basically the longer you are willing to wait for a retrieval/restore operation the cheaper the rate.

Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part I
I think they do accept Thai residents, although I did not verify by applying for an account. I use a US address to continue the account I opened with them 36 years ago.

Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part I
The answer is ..... it depends. If you go to the Thai Revenue department and apply for a Thai tax ID, AND you have a Pink ID number.... that number becomes (or is already) your Thai tax ID. If you don't have a Pink ID number, the revenue department will assign you a new tax ID number. If you subsequently get a Pink ID number it will NOT be your tax ID. In other words... the first number you get (tax ID/Pink ID) will be your tax number.

Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part I
You have correctly named the funds withheld by banks, but the rest is not accurate. It is attributed to the account holder (by name) even if they don't have have a Thai tax ID. At the end of the calendar year the account holder can file a Thai tax return and most likely get all the withholding back (dependent upon other income). If you don't like the nuisance of filing Thai income tax AND your interest income is below 20K ฿ you can apply for a Thai tax and give it to the bank(s) and request they don't withhold tax until your interest exceeds the 20K exemption. Plus there are personal exemptions, so anybody earning less than about 200K ฿ won't pay any tax.

I suggest you consider opening a Charles Schwab International account. If the fees are the same as for US nationals, they're quite low. Canadian banks are definitely fee heavy.

Already answered.

Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part I
A minor point.... the exemption you gave is for wage income. Self employment income also has the same exemption but is NOT exempt from employment tax.

Your figures are exaggerated. The difference between VISA/MasterCard exchange rates and those from WISE are on the order of 15 satang per US $ (about .4%). Most US debit cards charge 1 - 2.5% in foreign transaction fees. Some debit cards do not charge those fees. The above assumes you don't choose the wrong option for exchange at the ATM or point of sale.

WISE Fees
I did not argue that what you said was wrong. I fail to understand why you gave the same terse response to @JimGant's explanations ... that can easily be interpreted as a disagreement with his posts. I'm guessing that Jim also was perplexed by your responses which led to his comment expressing doubt about your views on the matter.

WISE Fees
It appears from the above transcript that you dispute @JimGant's mathematical explanation of why a SWIFT transfer above a certain size will be cheaper than a WISE transfer. You never acknowledge the accuracy of Jim's explanation... you just repeatedly say the exchange rate makes the difference. Jim's position is 100% correct and remains true even if the difference in exchange rates is substantial between the SWIFT and WISE choices. Granted that when the rate difference is marked, the required volume does become an issue. Your claims that "the exchange rate is what makes the difference" are not supported by the math unless you provide an explanation or example.
