You do not need a license to buy a car, only to drive a car! Even in Switzerland nobody check your diver license when you buy a car. And I guess in many other countries this also no prerequisite for buying a car.

So far I read it, you can choose worldwide, worldwide without US... or only the asian region. IN all the 3 option Thailand is included. Asia area of cover restriction, mean it's not valid in China, Hongkong, Japan and South Korea. Even it's called Asia it's only for certain asian Countries, and it's not cover whole Asia as well.. But anyway, if I would change to VUMI, I would choose "Worldwide excluding USA" as this is the best option for me, as I still travel around.

I saw many times, that when you ask for Cigna or April, that agents give you the Thailand based ones (My guess, because it's cheaper and therefore looks better). Additional my agent told me, when you want have like Cigna International from Thailand you need to have a foreign passport. They will (or can't) accept a Thai who is living in Thailand in their policy. The Options would be what I heard is, that you took this under your policy or this person has additional foreign passport (Dual citizen). Cigna, April are the most famous ones I hear many times when reading about International Health insurance. As stated, take care that you are really in the international ones and not the local.

Condo Electricity
HampiK replied to Mr Frank's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
Is this really a Condo or an Appartement? I only ever heard in appartements of paying electric to the manager. Condo I was thinking always pays direct to the electric company (MEA/PEA). -

If I understand you, then normaly you do your extension 1 month before the due date... This would then be 27 of January...so you receive your extension by end of February! As early.. some Immigration accepts 45 days prior to due date for starting. Here at Bangkok, it's always 4 weeks (28 days) between starting and receiving the extension for me in the last few years

Rent a Condo less than 1 month is actually not allowed in Thailand. Some places even have sign AirBnb not allowed at all (which I think is not against law, as long it's minimum 1 month). Actually I understand why most condos don't want persons rent less than 1 month. Some even not want person with less than 3 or 6 months.

Bank insists I wear a mask
HampiK replied to happydays's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I think if you go to a place where they ask you to wear one, then put them on. On the BTS I still wear one (but it's not mandatory anymore... it's only recommended). Outside I wear a mask, when I have a cold, or when the dust is very bad again (which unfortunately happens from time to time ???? ) I think on most areas it should be up to the person if he wants to wear a mask or not. It's wrong to argue he has to wear a mask or as well the opposite... If someone want to wear them, then let them. It's always the same.. the extremist make life complicated (I don't talk about masks.. this is a general problem) -
check out SweetHome3D. I used it last time about 1 year ago. There is also an online version. This maybe good to check if it has the features you want.. but else I would reccomend to download the app instead of the Online version.

Norwegian man arrested on Samui Island for 15 days of overstay
HampiK replied to webfact's topic in Koh Samui News
hmmm, how is this possible, I was thinking they finished the overstay search 2 days ago! This would mean they do some extra work now... -
I would personally use a visa instead of Visa exempt. I am not sure if there was a rule, that you can't be in Thailand longer than 180 days per year if Tourist visa or exempt. IF yes, then he would have problems, as he already would be in about 10 months this year. If come back would wait at least till January!

Many assume he not renew his visa (extension) because of financials. But I not read anything about this. It also could be that he was so scared about covid (745 days little bit over 2 years) and not want to leave the house and renew his extension because of that. As here is always so much speculation but we never will know the truth. Yes, he did wrong, and he will be deported. But the reason why we do not know. And you also can't take every word in the story as too many times there were translation errors as well. How many times I see the word billion translated to German as billion (German billion equals trillion in English)

Thanks for the positive Information. I am still considering. - Higher yearly limit, cheaper annual costs (compared to April, Cigna) - Starting Insurance at age of 75 (maybe interesting for some older guys with no preconditions) @richard_smith237 the direct billing, are there many hospitals in the list in Thailand (Bangkok)?

Thailand is included...

Hello, I would like to know if anybody know about this Insurance company *VUMI*. I have Cigna International (Silver plan) right now and was looking for other Insurances like April for example. Then I came to the VUMI, which has according to their website similar benefits as Cigna or April.. but a yearly limit of 3 million US$ (VuMI Global Flex Basic). They state their are under UK Law, which seems good. But as I not that knowledable in health things (never used a hospital in the last 30 years, but who knows about the future), I wanted to see if maybe someone has any knowledge about them.
