  1. As far as I see on UK news websites this has almost no prominence in the news now. Variants are like a non-event.
  2. The most mind-numbing town in the world....= Savannakhet. Lots of very angry dogs at garden gates of every street it seems. Head to Bolaven Plateau via Pakse..careful though in rainy season after roads cave in !! Coffee cultivation zone.
  3. Jordan Peterson reminds me of Kermit the Frog with his voice. Sad state of affairs that he is held up as some cornestone of the revival of the "Men's Movement' whatever that is. Clean your room ? (his advice thing from his book) Sort your own head out first pal before lecturing others....guy is a sad snapshot of what gets into the mainstream help for men now.
  4. One thing that has maybe not been brought up is how informationally dense it is to lay white chix back in west now and the minefields of causes they support and how many red flags they have at every step forward. I'm having first-hand exp. of it back in west on dating apps...it's a tough game vs gaming Thai chix...think 20x on every step forward. This is with 30+ chix so there is more an element of long-term dating hoops to jump through. The language barrier is a blessing in Thailand - if you don't go native - but she has uni grade English...just enough to bond but not enough to polarise fast in preferences etc.
  5. Japanese and Korean = closer to infantile.... First hand long-term experience back in day of them...they act like kids by way of body language and tones.
  6. 7-hours is usually my threshold nevermind 7 months.... Something about that city of all cities that makes you both restless and bored stiff at the same-time. Never experienced anything like it anywhere. Did you get 1-2-1 counselling ?
  7. GOD, if the train does not go all the way to Vientiane proper then the Lao tuktuk will equal the international train fare. Those Lao tuktuk guys are non-negotiable rip-off artists with their no brake-pad scam taxis.
  8. you may have saved this guy's bacon..well done ! I wasted a wordpress site as an amaetur...I just hate dabbling in that stuff even at the gui tick box level or plug-ins that wonk something. I guess AI will soon be able to handle much of the coding and repair stuff soon.
  9. To the Thai mind it is a day's wage, to a foreigner - just another small annoying tollbooth to get out the exit of the airport and have fun...it would have helped with no insurance nightmare events that crop up on Go Fund Me. These Christian churches must get pulverised financially raising endless money for anyone identifying as a 'christian brother/sister in need'.
  10. I thought it would never happen to me - as someone still relatively young and tech-savvy - and it did in the UK during covid remote work time period buying a very large purchase. Scammers took over my lawyer's email system and diverted me to their deposit account. Got the money back eventually, but it was worst 4 weeks in my life I can tell you. Lesson for life on quadruple-checking at the end point of any larger cash transfers.
  11. A soapy jacuzzi with three 20-year-olds.
  12. Yes, if enforced it's going to impact the retiree visa applications 4sure and meanwhile they are trying to increase numbers with new and easier visas coming (in theory).
  13. Probably the 7th next Prime Minister in the next 2 years through the revolving doors will repeal the rule...welcome to the circus. They should all wear red noses in the govt. in LoS.
  14. Long beer day ?
  15. I guess some that are eligible for these taxes may remit to their partner to get around it but she then may be liable for the lost revenue or the partner when it surfaces later through a papertrail. I bet it gets repealed like everything else in LoS as unworkable.
  16. After you had a good run and if any of those surface - I agree with you 100% after seeing the state my dad got in with dementia.
  17. God, are they at it again..revolving door like UK prime ministers.
  18. Grant Cameron (Canada) YT UFO/paranormal investigator had an episode on something similar. Blindfolded kids being investigated for these abilities. 90% cynics probably mock - but these patchy abilities can happen. It's the repeatability that is the issue at times.
  19. Yes, it seems to be 10x easier now vs likes of 2022. They must have had a trickle of money with the hoops people had to jump through. It was beyond riculous to apply and then the steps wher you could not select 'Does not apply' to get to next page...having to upload Jpgs with 'Does not apply' typed on them. Thai visa rule makers plus public sector web application site coders = perfect storm.
  20. Just reviving this METV thread to see if a council tax bill will do for step 3. This is from the LONDON-based Thai consulate site... https://london.thaiembassy.org/en/page/tourist-multiple-entries-visa Required Documents. Tourist (TR/Multiple entries). Biodata page of Passport or Travel Document Photograph taken within the last six months - If the photograph does not reflect your current appearance you may be refused to enter the Kingdom of Thailand. Document indicating current location - Applicant’s local utility bills (shows applicant’s name and address) e.g. electricity bill/ gas / mobile phone / rental agreement. Travel booking confirmation - Flight details showing applicant’s name, departure date, all flights en route from UK/Ireland/UK territories to Thailand and onward ticket to another destination. Proof of accommodation in Thailand, e.g. Accommodation bookings, invitation letters from family/friends in Thailand So simple vs 2022 application time !!!
  21. Did you ever try EMDR ? (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a comprehensive psychotherapy that helps you process and recover from past experiences that are affecting your mental health and wellbeing. It involves using side to side eye movements combined with talk therapy in a specific and structured format. Sorry for your troubles. I met a couple guys like you in Asia.
  22. maybe there has to be more scrutiny now with the remittance and new tax laws and tying it to the length of time the foreign recipient is in the country.
  23. I think that vaccine is a bit dangerous for side effects, was she OK after it ?
