Friend of mine has had hep B since childhood. Not sure of exact details but I think recent blood test wasn't good and doctor advised her to have her liver checked. She's never had this done before and is worried about the cost.
Does anyone know how much this would cost? She is government worker if that makes a difference.
Also doctor advised she go for a liver detox. Good advice?
Doctor seemed to think she now needed treatment based on new blood test. But is that correct as apparently didn't say how the results had changed.
I don't have much faith in her government hospital. Just hoping for some light.

If a government worker were to die of cancer having taken out a million bht loan years back with a work colleague acting as guarantor, is the debt then written off or is the guarantor then liable?

I find each day starts and is affected by the time I go to bed. Go to bed by a set time. Make it a habit. Change to a healthy breakfast, I love oats, soy milk with banana. Then add a gym visit 90 mins after breakie. You'll love yourself so much by now you will want a healthy lunch. See where I'm going? Build a healthy life. It takes time, but its all about habits. One at a time.

I'm staying near national stadium for a month. Need a gym. Prefer to pay 2000 or less. Any ideas?

Love this thing, cuz I can watch YouTube and BBC iPlayer on the TV.
Would love it if these two things worked in Thailand.
Fingers crossed.

Would love to live in a walkable distance to lumpini park and transport. Don't need new or stylish. But do need 30m space and prefer local market/supermarket near. Do I ask too much? Oh a gym would be nice too. Lol

Friend has inherited land in prachuap khiri khan district. Few hundred km south of BK. 5km from the town.
Factory next door to the land wants to buy the land. Said to her that she should let the bank appraise the land and they will pay whatever the bank says its worth.
Sound reasonable?

Thanks Sheryl.
She went to a Dr and he gave her a pelvic exam said she didnt need an ultrascan!!!!!!!
he also gave her another urine test which was negative.
He said she wasnt pregnant and had had a chemical pregnancy.
He also told her her uterus was swollen.
He said she just needed to wait for her period.
We were content with his answer for a few days but growing doubts mean we will go to sukhimvit hospital for an unltrasound on Saturday. Do you think its needed? Ive just read about molar pregnancy and I agree that it cant be ruled out.

Oh the first positive test line was so light almost couldnt see it.
Second positive test line still very light but can see.

Im 46 she is 39.
I have never ejaculated inside her.
Never used condoms.
3rd March a 1 day period. Seemed strange.
10th March had urine pregnancy test with Dr at her government office. Negative. DR seems a bit of an idiot
16th March had blood test same place. Results back next day. Negative.
31st March urine test. Positive. Very light line.
2nd April urine test. Positive.
No period in April.
4th April urine test from Tesco. Negative!!!!!!
Nipples sore since 1 week BEFORE 1 day period.
Often sick since 1 week BEFORE 1 day period.
After 1 day period stomach became bigger. She is slim.
Stomach pain like pre period 2 weeks ago. Start again yesterday.
Her doctor at work seems useless and always says same, 'lets wait'
Such conflicting data, though it looks like preggy to me. 1 week late period, couple of positive tests. Symptoms. But symptoms that started before 1 day period! Neg blood test. Stomach pains!!!!
Confused.

Possum, what 'first world country' makes it easier for tourists than Thailand?

Tired of renting a 30m2 room for 13k in BK. Just wondering what 7 or so thousand can get you in CR.
I dont drive so would need to be near city centre.

Oops, should be clearer. I have double entry tourist. I just want another 60 days.
So Mae Sai/Burma is the cheapest/easiest crossing?

GF works in gov office. Seems like everyone in the office has borrowed money from gov or commercial bank. They all seem to act as guarantor for each other.
Anyway one of the girls seems to have skipped the country and left a few girls responsible for her debt. No one has any assets to speak of so I am wondering aggressive will the banks be at trying to reclaim the money.

I may be in the city and need to do one. Is the nearest border efficient?
Which bus station will take me there? and where is 'there'?

Playing with the idea of building a house. I know its a how long is a piece of string question.
A nicely designed modern 2 bedroom, kitchen 80m2 house ....building costs?
Designed to stay as cool temp wise as possible., on 1 floor.
Am I right in thinking 2 million is needed for something nice?

For bangkok, if you wanna lead a good upper middle class lifestyle as a single guy, you need a decent budget
30-40k baht rent for a decent 1br condo serviced condo in a good location.
20-30k a month for car payment
20-30k month Entertainment eating out
5-6k misc bills, internet,water,electricity
10-20k misc, hobbies clothes
You need around 100-110k baht a month, so you need an income of about 170-180k baht to save some, and invest for your future. Believe me, 180k isn't big money when a decent farang package in BKK is about 300-350k baht.
I see what some folks call a comfy lifestyle, and I get confused. Sharing food? Drinking cheap beer, avoiding western food? No thanks, why come to Thailand if you're not going to take advantage of the low cost of living?
Bangkok is best enjoyed when you dine at nice restaurants, don't have to worry about the prices on the menu, drinking once in a while in decent pub, living in a decent condo. This is what makes a good lifestyle. I can live in my village for $200 a month, why come to Thailand if I'm not gonna lead a decent lifestyle.
Lukecan, when you8 say 'upper middle' the middle that you are referring to, will that be a Thai middle, global middle or your home countries middle class?

My recent post was incorrectly written. People thought I was asking about finances.
Is Bangkok (where I am now) a good place for a 47 year old who lives on 50k a month to find friendship?
As I dont work I dont meet many guys and never thought Id say this but spending time only with women gets boring! lol
I*m not so in love with Bangkok so if there were a better place to live where I can live simply, find a few male friends who are free both day and night time I would consider moving.
Its great to live in a country where women are so easy to meet, but after 15 years in Japan I do miss a good chat in my own language.

Im 47 and retired/unemployed.
Do guys in my position tend live in BK or tend to live elsewhere?
-
My apartment contract is to the end of May, but Id like to leave BK sooner.

Whats my best chances to find someone interested in taking it over?
