  1. I going to say maintenance free, but it is 4 stories high, so can't get up to see, but might use my drone. You don't something rigid, otherwise the birds can just stand on it, so my nylon mesh is flexible and not too small spacing. But it works. Sorry best I've got for you. PS..look at Watsadu
  2. A type of nylon. Can get in various thickness. Very strong and I believe not a problem with the sun.
  3. Also been there done that..useless. Last year I renovated our apartments, and also installed all new guttering (over 100m). Laid mesh over the gutters for 2 reasons. 1) Birds can sit/stand there, but can't make nests..any bird<deleted> on top of the mesh is mostly washed away when it rains. 2) Also stops leaves accumulating in the gutters, and as the apartments are 3 floors high, the wind normally just blows leaves away. This idea has worked very well.
  4. Thai gold doesn't go up or down because of selling for school expenses . It is tied to the world gold price. Who advised you on this? How can people be so naive.
  5. How do you know him?????
  6. that is one ugly house......
  7. The price of gold is determined by a myriad of worldwide factors, so if your family member can predict what the price will be after the school holidays, thats absolutely amazing.....
  8. Actually over the years a lot of incidents (that go unreported) like this. Bikers and service guys, plus normal idiots don't mix at times. probably same in many bars, but TQ has had its moments.
  9. This is how it works... Normally you would check in using UK passport, and when/if asked for Visa just show Thai passport. Clear UK immigration with UK passport, then put it away. Then use only Thai passport show at Thai Immigration. But as you mentioned, you uploaded the Thai passport info into the Airline system, so this what they will expect to see (but they could ask for UK passport for ID check). But clear UK immigration with your UK passport, and then of course Thai passport at SUV. PS::::: I am not from UK but this is the exact method I use when travelling with 2 passports to my country. Hope this helps.
  10. Back to Agents::: I was at the Bangkok Bank Numchai Branch last week, and one agent was there with an older Englishman opening an account..using only his passport.... Sorry I did not get the name of this agent. Then my teller went and got 9 tickets from the machine. Apparently an agent was bringing in 9 Russians to open accounts (price 7k each). Lady said the bank didn't get any of that 7k, but each person had to buy the banks Assurance package and of course the opening balance. So I guess agent and bank do ok.
  11. And he can choose whether to stay in Thailand or Dubai.
  12. Nobody would believe them!
  13. Speak for yourself-----I'm sure some people do
  14. COMPLETE and UTTER IGNORANCE, Racist, aggressive..........using these terms makes it very understandable why you are treated this way...maybe a course in politeness and patience might get you more acceptance from officials.
  15. There is an American guy (quite high up in the hierachy) who is 80 also????
  16. Of course one in the front and one in the back.
  17. Thank you Lenny, but it's been mentioned many times already in this thread, so obviously he should.
  18. Yes we all know they are not reqd at airports.
  19. I was posting about the new face scan that will be required soon., not about opening an account...whoops.
  20. Big article in the Nation newspaper today on this new face scan for scamming and security reasons.
  21. Actually it is nearly every bank....right now its SCB, BKK Bank, Kasikorn, Krungsri, Krungthai. I went to today to one of my banks..phone and passport in hand....quite a simple process. Will do 2-3 more banks tomorrow.
  22. Yes we know they are still required for land crossings.
  23. As of last Friday most banks were showing 1.25-1.35 % pa on a Fixed deposit. That is for 12 mths. 24 mths is a tad higher. Hope that helps.
