    @bignokOver 7000 posts in 5 1/2 months. Average of about 42 posts a day. Just sad about the quality.

    SAPA in the North..can go by train from Hanoi (or drive). Great area--beautiful scenery. HOI AN is lovely and agree with other posters on DALAT...and good roads around that area for driving. I also enjoyed HUE. The lake area (old town) in HANOI is excellent for walking around, and small quaint hotels to stay at.

    There is a rumour floating around that the whole abandoned 'Waterfront Condo' will be airlifted to this site by a squadron of Army Heavy Lift helicopters. By moving it to this area only the top half will be seen from Pattaya Beach and hopefully nullify the initial reasons for the project curtailment many years ago.

    Fact::: ATM cards, Debit cards from all Banks work in all Thailand ATM's, not just the Bank the card is issued from. If for some reason this is as you described, then you need to change it at any Bangkok Bank Branch, as it's not functioning correctly.

    It is now Thailand Privilege. Some new packages on offer. 20 year package has gone from 1 million to 5 million.

    Just stay around the University area....most of what happens is around there. As you said mostly Thai orientated, but have some massage places as well.

    Good post. So correct the 30 days 'Consideration' is taken from the end of your extension (in this case 12th August), not from your renewal visit in July. As it shld be.

    "most foreigners in Thailand come from the lowest social groups" Rather prejudicial statement. You may fall under this category, but many 100's of foreigners do not, so I personally take offence to your post. Enuff said!

    You have mentioned 30+30 lease, land ownership and house ownership all in one post, and the post is rather convoluted, hard for others to really interpret what you are trying to do. So if you want advice please post in a manner that we can understand. As a reminder 30+30 leases are not legally valid..whatever you are told.

    Bignok thanks for your input, and yes of course I can use Google maps to plot a route between #9 and Kan (at least 4 ways to go and all about the same distance) but there are also new roads and also lots of roadworks, highways being built etc which are not on Google maps, so I am asking for peoples recent experience.

    Peoples opinions/experience on the best route from Pattaya to Kan. There are different ways to go once you get off Highway 7 and go through Bangkok--this is the info I am after.

    Taking a trip there in 2 weeks. Haven't been in a while. Be interested in peoples opinion and recent experience of the best roads/routes from Pattaya-Kanchanaburi and vice versa. Will be travelling in the daytime. Thanks in advance.
