  1. By not having your old passport, you forfeited your re-entry permit (so entirely your fault), so having to go through the process from scratch again is 100% correct. What he charged you is between you and him, and if you didn't agree with it, you should have gone to another agent, or done it yourself.
  2. Coincidental only....The 50k one time transfer limit or 200k daily limit (without verification) is only transfers out for Thai banks, which along with other measures (possibly coming later in the year) has been recently enacted to try to nullify scammers. Nothing to do with overseas inward transfers.
  3. No--just bookbank and passport are required.
  4. It has in the past. And as the new Govt will not start to govern for about 3 mths. I'm sure there will be delays for non-priority issues.
  5. It wasn't obvious to him, otherwise he wouldn't have asked the question. Read the OP's original post.
  6. As a quick answer, you cannot get a WP on a retirement extension, which covers part of your question. The rest I'll leave up to other posters.
  7. Why not download the blank form, and also write the form in blue ink. Hand the fillable form in first, and if he/she wants it handwritten, then swap them over. In that way you'll know for next time, and also let the forum know.
  8. I caught it this afternoon. It is going to be a nightmare. From Soi 89 to the traffic lights is only now one lane (instead of 4). Once through that light, you hit another lot of drainage works that brings it to 2 lanes past the PTT station too the Chaiyapruek traffic lights. At around 4.30pm the traffic was jammed up from Tepprasit traffic lights all the way to what I described above. Note: The South to North side is unemcumbered.
  9. I'm sure we all have our thoughts on IMM procedures, but no reason to get so uptight about it (as in your post) because they the provide rules and Regs, and we jump threw them or leave. That's just the way it is, and sadly there is nothing we can do about it.
  10. A well written piece. Sadly you are right that this election is too early for real change, with the Senators being able to basically nullify the choices of the popular vote, but it definitely does feel as if the younger voters will shake things up this election, and will prevail in the next 1-2 elections. Lets hope.
  11. The person at K-bank that showed me her 'ver17' had an iphone, which can be updated, but apparently Android is still 'ver16' as its latest version. I don't know anymore info.
  12. Multiple stations on Sukhumvit Rd...you want to tell us which station!.
  13. Under 'settings'..best I can do, as I only have 'ver16'
  14. K-Bank you can only update your photo using the K-Plus app (not at a branch). Also the app version must be 'ver17'. Just found that out this week.
  15. Just did my Krungsri photo update a few days ago, and updated address, phone nbr, PP# etc. Took about 5 minutes and now whatever regs the Govt bring in I am validated. Have done this same procedure at all my banks. Just sensible to do this, so no probs further down the line.
  16. I believe that sms alerts for transactions under 500 baht are not sent, so that maybe the reason.
  17. You've been here long enough to know its ghosts--quick temple trip and all's well.????
  18. A Checking Account..in this day and age....Also not all banks will allow you to open an account--times change.
  19. Maybe real for you, but for others this holier than thou cr__ is useless in real life.
  20. These days not advisable to be carrying things for other people thru airports/customs, unless you are very sure of the contents. just saying!.
  21. Nothing to do with each other..
  22. Marilyn Agogo---with turtles, fish and eels coming from the innermost depths of some of the ladies. ????
