  1. I'm not bothered with the amount of bargirl threads (annoyed at times maybe) but I believe at least it's an attempt to understand bgs than just be misguided only by the abundant hearsay. What I am bothered about is that although with much development on sectors such as tourism and business thoughout the years it still comes down to Patpong and BGs when referring to Thailand.

I guess it goes to show, you can't blame those that just don't know any better? Or should you blame them when that's all they really care to know about. No matter what, these people will still continue to patronize and posters will still continue to post threads on bgs. It's probably all they know....

The thing is Do they want to know other things about Thailand?? Personally I don't think they do and when they get back home that's what they tell their friends what they did in Thailand and then the cycle begins anew!! I myself I think it's crazy to fly 18 or 19 hours to have sex!! but guys do it.

  2. This is the woman you speak of  Rod  1988 winner of the Miss Universe Pageant

    Pornthip Nakhirunkanok

Now that is one beautiful lady, in anyone's language!

(Looks like she kept her figure well, even after having all those kids.) :o

She must be very loving!!! :D only her and another thai lady have won miss universe can you imagine that!!! only two thai women have had that title amazing.

  3. Tony Blair has ordered the fearsome SAS and MI6 hit squads to rescue kidnapped Brit Ken Bigley "at all costs". Bigley, who has been held by the fanatical group for 12 days, is a ticking timebomb as his family are terrified that he will be slaughtered ahead of Tony Blair's speech to the Labour Party.

THE brother of British hostage Ken Bigley fears he could be killed today.

There are fears that engineer Ken could be executed within 24 hours to embarrass Tony Blair before his speech to the Labour Party Conference in Brighton. Ken Bigley's brother Paul admitted: “If he is to be killed it will probably be on Monday so that the savages holding him can get maximum propaganda out of it.”

Ken, 62, has been held for 12 days by fanatics led by ruthless Jordanian Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. They are demanding the release of women prisoners in Iraq. Two Americans captured with Ken have already been beheaded.

Paul Bigley last night called Mr Blair’s silence the “kiss of death” as he addressed an anti-war rally at the Labour conference over a phone link. He told delegates: “Ask Mr Blair to pick up the bloody phone.”

Ken’s Thai wife Sombat, 35, yesterday told how she had begged him not to work in Iraq as it was too dangerous. She sobbed: “I don’t want him to die like this.”

Muslim singer Cat Stevens has begged Ken’s captors for mercy.

Is he really sending rescue teams?? Do they know where he is?? I feel for the family member's left behind i also feel for the victims to a point they went to a war zone to make money My friend who is an expert shot with a rifle was was made an offer to go but he would be doing security and would be armed, He also said is <deleted> hit the fan just keep passing me ammo. But my friend never accepted the offer, 1000 dollars a day is not worth your life. He was tempted though.

  4. Normal service will resume shortly - the last couple of days have been very dramatic indeed and yesterday I was in no state to post at all, in fact I didn't really feel like continuing but I suppose it's my duty to finish what I started.

I was in a bad way yesterday and today things are okay and I have managed to get some sleep and just need to start eating properly again.

Ning will get the bus to Bangkok later today.

I don't like being open al the time but I suppose I can't bail out now, but when she's gone and I have lots of time on my hands then I will complete the 'saga' so to speak; maybe tonight or tomorrow morning.

Bkk Madness - When I'm not at work there's a high speed place that's 20 bht an hour.

Rainman - No my name isn't Jens.

I'm flattered at the continuing interest by the way.

Are you two going to continue to be friends at least??

  5. Actually I met my wife at her home in Udorn Thani   I see that's not on the poll.   :o

She was a Real Estate Salesperson when i met her  now she's not working  getting ready to come to the US.   :D

    Where did she work?

Possible choices: 'office worker' or 'businesswoman'...

I would say Office Worker, The business was owned by a Vietnamese Woman.

  6. I'm getting married to a Thai lady soon and have heard it is tradition to give the parents a gift (cash only please). Is this true and if so how much to avoid insult.

Secondly what are the implications in the event of a split sometime down the road, in terms of Thai Law. Am I signing my life away.

    Thanks

    Camster

Is this a Shotgun wedding?? your worried about splitting and you didn't even marry yet! I gave my wife's parent's 70000 thai baht but you have to negotiate about the price if you are going to give, it is not necessary to give a dowry.

  7. "porn" is not an unusual part-name in Thailand.

I lived with a lady named Pornthip in 1960-61.

I think one of the Miss Thailand winners was named Pornthip too.

"Lipschitz" is a nice Jewish name. :o

  9. The Gentleman Scamp: Your name isn't Jens, is it? And your girl isn't 22, right? Just confirming some facts about a Ning i know who's experiencing pretty much the same things as you're writing. Not my g/f, though ..just a friend, don't worry.

Small country if it is the same people :o that you know.

  10. Is it true "Queen Suriyothai" Is buried there? hard to say buried since Thai's cremaet bodies Thanks

Sorry, no idea, I actually live in Suphanburi, but I often go over for a day trip. I will ask some people though.

I do know where Pol Pot is buried, I had the pleasure of being shown that spot by some locals (the wife's family). Ahhh but that is another story....

She accidently died in a drowning incident at Bang Pa In Palace. She was cremated in the traditional Royal way. Ayutthya is a most interesting place.

So she didn't die protecting her husband King Chakrapat?? :o
