Blast from the Past - 60's, 70's, 80's Music (2021)

What a shame nearly all Jimi's material is banned from YouTube by his half sister. The young generation need to hear his genius, I'm doing my best, blaring his music over my fields, the cows love him, as do the banana trees, but I can't help feeling he needs to reach a wider audience. -

It was Rudolf Schenker's birthday yesterday. I got stung by a scorpion once. Put my boots on in the morning and the basterd was hiding in the left one, my favourite leg. Hurt all morning. -
Belting it down now Owl, and has been for a while. Any luck your way?

Love the song and the singer, jvs, powerful stuff. I gather the band, or rather the singer, were famous for their variety of styles. Tippers- Garcia's solo in the above has to be one of the most moving he ever did. Here he is with John Kahn again, really cooking. I guess the Persian heroin they both loved had kicked in. -

They were quite a band,. With your roots in Der Fatherland Tippers, you must feel a particular affinity for German bands seeking an identity post WW2. Wonderful music -

Rory should have come to Thailand. I could have found him a nice Thai country lady to take care of his every need. He could have relaxed on her farm and played weekly gigs in Udon. Khon Kaen, Khorat etc. The Thais would have loved him with his down to earth personality. -

Ha Ha, some great quotes from Charlie- ' My wife always says i don't do anything.' He was always a rock, never thought he wouldn't be there anymore. Still 80 is a good innings. Amazing that Keith has outlasted him. Charlie's good tonight, ain't he? -

Moon the Loon was born on this day. What a drummer! In the fall of 1969, Moon teamed up with "Legs" Larry Smith of the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band to pull a twisted practical joke on the venerable British retailer Marks and Spencer. First, Smith entered the store's trouser department and asked to be shown their most durable work trousers; then, having examined the pair, Smith expressed concern that they might not be strong enough for his purposes – whereupon Moon entered the shop and cheerily offered to help him test them. Each taking a leg, the two men proceeded to completely tear the trousers in half, causing the freaked-out staff to call for the store detective. Then, right as Smith and Moon were about to be led away by the authorities, their limo driver appeared on the scene. "Are those one-legged trousers?" he asked. "They're just what I've been looking for!" ("He paid for the trousers, and everyone calmed down," Smith later told Moon biographer Tony Fletcher. "And we asked for each leg to be wrapped separately!") -

Thaksin chides Move Forward Party in Clubhouse talks
bannork replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
He means Thaksin's populist policies, using tax payers money to influence voters, was a form of bribery. Although not enough judges considered him guilty to have him banned from politics, Thaksin's ' honest mistake' back in 2001 shows his criminal intent. For years millions of baht was hidden in the names of his drivers and servants. For what purpose? The only logical conclusion is stock market manipulation, buying and selling stock under ' unknown' names to avoid suspicion. If Thaksin came back I'm sure the deal he would cut with the elite would do nothing to take the country forward, rather it would marginalise those looking for change and reform in Thailand.
