  1. You have a lot to learn about Thailand and corruption.
  2. Yes, but can they accept payments on LINE????
  3. That would depend on how much money you pay them.
  4. If a Thai crashes into you and you have had a few to drink, the whole accident will be on you. If the Thai dies, you will go to prison, or pay around 1 million baht for your freedom. 1 million baht pays for a lot of taxi rides.
  5. It's possible the "robbery" part is simply because he refused to pay for services.
  6. Well, as they say, "Don't bring MMA to a gun fight."
  7. How do Thai authorities know they are immediate family? I can gift a bargirl while we are standing at an ATM and then give her a payment for her trouble, and arrange to do it again next week. Same with gifting family. The "gift" debate has been done and dusted. Roll the dice with your "gifting" work around. You don't think the Thai's haven't thought about this loophole????
  8. Then, I would expect little booths to pop up all over Thailand, like money exchanges, where you can transfer money to the staff behind the counter as "gift" and they hand you cash, minus a small commission.
  9. I agree. Just typing "Gift" as the reference in the bank transfer isn't going to cut it.
  10. So, do nothing and roll the dice. I wonder what the Thai's have planned for the farang that don't pay.
  11. Yeah, I'm sure you will be voting at the Embassy. My prediction is a a big swing away from the two major parties, possibly a hung parliament. Either way, Albo is in trouble.
  12. The ATO already know this. Been going on for decades. Ever heard of a guy called "Paul Hogan?"
  13. Are you suggesting people make a false declaration to Centerlink on their application for a pension? Nothing to do with Thai authorities. Immigration know you have been outside of Australia for 183 days, therefore, a non resident for tax purposed, thus 30% reduction in pension.
  14. Here is another Skype alternative. It may suit some, but not others, but an alternative none the less. Free / cheap landline calls. Mobile calls a little expensive. https://www.voipbuster.com/dashboard
  15. I recently signed into Skype using the web portal. The UI is familiar and it worked fine. Microsoft say the web portable will still be available after the 5th May. I intend to leave about $0.20 credit in my Skype account to keep it alive forever. Long Live Skype.
  16. PM ChaiyaTH. He'll help you out. "There's no issue at all."
  17. Yeah, "depending on what you pay for" plays big part. Could just call with you Thai sim card also.
  18. I wasn't talking about Teams. I was talking in general that many of the VOIP providers cater for businesses, and not many seem to have a simple download software, chose username / password, add some money, and away you go. From my recent research, after the announcement of he Skype shut down, many VOIP providers bang on about how many people you can have in a conference call, line in and line out numbers, porting the number, linking, syncing, SIP trunks etc, when a large part of the market, as shown on this thread, just want a simple, user friendly, and affordable call out option. Have you called a government agency number from Whatsapp or FB? Please provide a link to a VOIP company that has a simple download where you create a username and password, deposit some money, and get affordable call to western countries. A few have been put forward, but all you have said is, "there is no issue at all."
  19. You just keep talking yourself into it and reaffirming what you know to be a bad decision. A bit like guys saying, "my girl is different" despite everyone telling the guy she's not. Australian Border Force is not 'different."
  20. Political prisoners is a poor example, really. Can you put forward another example?
  21. That's the only thing that matters. The rest of all the discussions, across all the threads, is meaningless without the said certificate. Those who do not actively seek it out are leaving themselves exposed to extortion.
  22. A lot of the VOIP providers have a lot of bells and whistles, basically catering to the business market. Personal users do not need or want all the bells and whistles. They just want a simple call / video program / app that is easy to set up and use. This is particularly relevant for the elderly, and their younger relatives who set it up for them. They don't want to know about linking and syncing, and all the other bells and whistles. The race to offer the most bells and whistles isolates a big part of the market that don't want them, nor require them, thus only confuses them, and ultimately loses them as customers.
  23. Yes, the "Thai brothers" are certainly honorable people.
  24. No. You are "detained" awaiting deportation. You are not criminally charged, prosecuted, and sentenced to prison for a length of time for an overstay.
