  1. It's not only Thailand. In my Scandinavia home country things has become even more difficult. Part is caused to terroismen and money laundry, and it's all over most of the World that they check more-and-more. Things are still easy in Thailand compared to my home country, I'm happy that I moved and therefore have less to fight with in my home country; unfortunately still have some, including more demanding requirements from banks etc due to governmental demand...
  2. The news-story shows the importance of making a will or change an existing – it's actually quite simple – if you intend to leave something to a "new" Thai partner. Even that a spoken word about heir is legal in court, you still need to prove it...
  3. Evolution and progress will automate more jobs in the future.
  4. However, Thai PBS wrote: "Thaksin’s political influence questioned by PAO election tally". Source link: https://world.thaipbs.or.th/detail/thaksins-political-influence-might-questioned-by-pao-election-tally/56395
  5. The photos are from a former Daily Mail story published January 20th at ASEAN NOW...
  6. Not what you asked for in your OP, but doesn't matter. And to my opinion, even you didn't ask for it in OP: If you wish to use Microsoft programs, Windows' or Apple's OS are the best in mentioned order. Linux is great for running Internet-servers with an Apache – likely better than a Win-server – but as home PC, it's not...🙂
  7. If you mean glass bottled Coca Cola, you can buy them in Makro as .25-bottle and in many restaurants as .33 bottle – it's great for nostalgic moments – many Thais think that glass bottles keep the gas better; perhaps they are right...
  8. More than 5 properties to be protected by the Consumer Protection Article.
  9. However, not mentioned in your original post, apart from considering a Linux OS instead of Win11... I just tried to be helpful...😉
  10. Often money can clear problems in Thailand.
  11. If you have automatic updates, you should not worry, a new version will come automatically. I bought a Win10 Pro, this is what I have now from automatic updates...
  12. Aluminium cans – and plastic bottles – has a value for garbage-collectors and will be recycled, glass bottles don't have enough value.
  13. Sounds like an old Koh Phangan news-story from last year – or perhaps it's just some, not reading the news and therefor aware of that it is illegal to work without a permit and correct company set-up...
  14. Probably just withheld income tax...
  15. Yes, seems definitely like that was the reason...
  16. If someone don't pay business debt, you use a lawyer and court system – or write if off, if the debtor is from a foreign country, where there might be a doubtful debt collection...
  17. AN-forums are extremely helpful in reply to questions and fgeneral knowledge about Thailand. Furthermore, the news-secrion keeps one updated with what happens when you stay/live in Thailand, some of the items are very important knowledge for expats.
  18. Have you used this for travelling alone with a minor Thai child? For Thai-immigration you might need the official Thai-document for travelling alone with a minor Thai citizen; se my above reply.
  19. You will need a letter from the local Amphor-district office to prove that you have permission to take your daughter out of the country. The mother need to be present at the Amphor-office to confirm this. The letter is an official standard document and looks like this (the document I used when travelling with my daughter)... Upon check-in at the airline you should use your daughter's US-passport, which will make her eligible to travel without a visa. Your daughter needs to exit the immigration on her Thai passport, if she has no entry stamp in her US-passport. Don't show her US-passport at immigration. The immigration officer may ask for permission – i.e., the letter – very likely, when a father travels alone with a very young minor out of Thailand. Me, I was never asked, but first time I travelled alone with my daughter she was 13 years old, but the immigration officer asked some questions in Thai language to my daughter.
  20. In short: If there is no will 50% will go to spouse and 50% to children, if any, or parents and other siblings...
  21. A problem with government handouts is that somebody are going to pay for it. Right now that "somebody" doesn't seem to exist, so the government is looking for multiple fund-sources, among others casino-income and taxing foreigners...
  22. This government is desperate to find income sources to pay for their election promises...

  24. It's depending of the local immigration office. There iss a police order (don't remember the number by hearth) stating that you don't need to re-register a TM30 when you are temporary staying in other domestic places/other provinces, and even when travelling abroad with a re-entry permit. However, the immigration office where I stay don't follow the police order (I've shown it to them) and claims a new TM30 if one has been out of the province.
  25. 1) I've had the same kind of neighbor – and even with a monkey screaming all day for a female to mate with...🙉 – I got used to it and even missed the monkey-sound after it died...😉 2) To my knowledge, no useful rules. ("Always look on the bright side of life", and be happy that you are not neighbor to a late open karaoke bar...) 3) Often mentioned advice is to move. If you own your home, get a Thai to politely talk with the neighbor – or just have some patience as me in #1.
