  1. that date format is better than the stupid american date format
  2. I remember all but 6, and those 6 never charted or got air play in Australia because the record companies didn't think they would sell.
  3. She did not receive any prior warning or receive a 2 stroke penalty after the first or second use, and her scorecard indicates that as she had was level par when the rules official reached her. The tournament rules officials did NOT become aware of the infringements until after the 3rd use by her caddy and as such she was dq'd immediately upon a rules official being made aware of the tournament rules infringement with regards to the use of the rangefinder and catching up with her on the 5th hole.
  4. I think you'll find it was the LPGA not the PGA that provided the Voice Caddie competition mode rangefinders. Also there should be no confusion as the Women's US Open is run by the USGA not the LPGA and the Women's AIG Open (British Open) is run by the R&A not the LET or LPGA. So the rules are consistent, viz. ALL tournaments run by the LPGA & LET allow the use of rangefinders. Tournaments run by the USGA (the governing body for golf in the USA) & R&A (the governing body for golf internationally) do NOT allow the use of rangefinders in their tournaments, men's and women's.
  5. no they can't. The ONLY tournament on the PGA tour that men are allowed to use rangefinders is the PGA Championship. However, they are allowed to use them during teh 2 practice rounds (Mon/Tues) and during the pro-am if playing in that. The same applies to the men in Europe.
  6. men can use rangefinders but only in the PGA Championship. Using rangefinders actually speeds up play. Players don't have to stand around waiting while caddies pace out distances.
  7. no ambiguity, they're 2 different major's for the women. The US Open is clear, The AIG women's open is the renamed women's British Open. As you were confused by this you're obviously not a golfer.
  8. as a former tour caddy I can assure you that it is the caddy's responsibility to make sure that BOTH he and his player are aware of the tournament rules and regulations. Yes she should have known BUT this was the caddy doing the wrong thing that got her DQ'd. Think back to when Ian Woosnam got penalised for having too many clubs in his bag. That was the caddies fault not Woosy's. This instance is no different. She needs to get herself a new caddy asap.
  9. for me golf, cycling and DDP YOGA (it's not your mama's yoga)
  10. maybe not attempted murder, but threatening with an iron bar is assault. 1 month in the slammer might teach this moron a lesson, and I bet the mini van company haven't fired him.
  11. the scenery is still the same, but the hot spring streams that used to run through the area have mostly dried up. Just the geyser and the pools for boiling eggs now. I guess as a local I see it in a different light to a tourist
  12. really. Fang Hot Springs is crap now to what it used to be when I first went there 8 years ago. Most of the streams have dried up. Now it's just a reasonable place to cycle to, stay 5 minutes take a photo or 2 and then cycle home.
  13. it would seem that these varying govt positions have different titles in different parts of the country.
  14. apart from being an irrelevant question, it could be from either Phuket, Haad Yai or somewhere in between. Also how did you get the idea that Haad Yai was an Island? The name of the company on the minivan is Haad Yai River Tour, so perhaps that might give you a clue.
  15. Did you actually read everything I wrote? Obviously not. Go back and read everything this time, especially the part where I refer to a golfer that hooks his shots on a regular basis is known in golf parlance as a hooker. Then you might understand why your comment is that of someone who only partially reads what is written before replying. DO YOU UNDERSTAND NOW?
  16. yes it does, but for the uneducated, in golf if a right handed golfer hits a shot that curves largely right o left that a hook and if it's done on a regular basis that golfer is known as a hooker. The husband's reply to his wife is based on teh golf definition of a hooker, NOT the other definition. Do you understand now?
  17. they're not bowlers, they're pitchers even though they pitch underarm.
  18. that'll confuse him even more.
  19. They're talking about the current cricket test series between England and Australia.
  20. 60 is the correct age. Same applies to pink ID cards. They are also lifetime from age 60.
  21. that proves what I posted. Communication within the banks and interpretation from branch to branch is like all other things Thai. There is no uniformity.
  22. I receive my tax refund by cheque each year and deposit directly into my ttb account. No problems whatsoever. Just takes teh usual couple of days for the funds to clear.
  23. The problem with facial recognition is that most of the banks have put there own interpretation on the instructions from The Bank of Thailand. For the record it was BOT that implemented the facial recognition. I have written (email) confirmation from BOT clearly stating that foreigners ARE included. Yet we are continually reading on here of the usual variances in practice that occurs on a regular basis in Thailand. e.g. People/foreigners with Bangkok Bank accounts are saying they have successfully had their photo taken with their passports, yet in my neck of the woods BKK bank is telling their foreigner customers that they are not included. My main bank, ttb and not just my branch but also their head office, is justifying this approach by stating they are exempt from the procedure with their foreigner bank accounts. Even after showing the assistant branch manager the email from BOT, and a subsequent phone call by the bank's assistant manager to BOT and being directed by BOT that they MUST also take photos of foreigners that have accounts with them, they still refused on the grounds of being exempt. BOT then telephoned ttb head office to make it clear that foreigners are included, but even their head office took the stance of ttb being exempt. So this just appears to be another example of different people with a little bit of power/authority putting their interpretation on a directive and ignoring the organisation that actually implemented the procedure. I guess we just have to hope that when the occasion arrives that we need to do a transfer of 50k or more with our mobile app that we don't get blocked with a message telling us to go to our bank branch to have a photo taken. Actually in a way I hope that does happen, that way the bank employees will have some serious egg on their faces AND lose face big time.
  24. not quite correct. Being head of TAT and forecasting tourist numbers every day and getting it wrong falls into that category too.
  25. "The Bhumjaithai party, said Anutin, is ready to perform its role in opposition or in government and, more importantly, in parliament." What role could he possibly perform in parliament. He didn't stand for election as an MP and therefore he wasn't elected. So what role could he posibly perform?
