  1. "Can't burn you cake at both ends" I think you've got your sayings a bit mixed up. It's either you can't have your cake and eat it to (which is the more appropriate saying for this scenario) OR burning the candle at both ends (which is not the appropriate saying for this scenario).
  2. many of the coffee shops in this neck of the woods that I've been to provide this sickly sweet syrup instead of sugar.
  3. No, you will need to get a letter/form from your bank showing the amount of interest earned for the year and the total amount of tax deducted. You should also take your Thai tax ID No. with you as well as your passport/pink ID card. That's all I've been doing at my local revenue office for the last 8 years. No problems except for last year when the local revenue office lost the document from the bank and sent teh tax return without any support documentation. Contacted the Provincial revenue office and they just asked me to provide them with a copy of the bank statements. Received my return 3 weeks later.
  4. You should check out Fang/Chai Prakhan districts. Yes they're around 140kms from CM, but it's a nice rural style of living (still idiots on the roads but no traffic gridlocks) and there are some excellent rides for cyclists. My wife and I cycle and there are so many different types of rides. Flat ones, undulating ones, serious hill climbs (Doi Ang Khang e.g)
  5. I agree that the pink ID is not accepted at the check-in counter for domestic flights but it is accepted when entering the departure lounge and shown with your boarding pass. At hotels my pink ID card has always been accepted when the reservation is in my name.. I've never been asked for my passport. When the reservation is in my Thai wife's name I don't get asked for any ID.
  6. you'd be surprised how many are ridden by Thai adults up here in CM.
  7. Just did a bit of research on Bianchi. There is a Bianchi Bike shop in Lat Krabatng (their web site is their facebook page) and they currently have 3 hydbrids in stock. Bianchi 20 Boy. Price reduced from 26,100 to 19,000. So my guess is end of model clear out. They also have Bianchi Magma 9.1 19,500 and Magma 9.2 17,500. Might be worth your while to check them out. Bianchi is a superior brand/quality to Giant and at the prices those bikes are selling for they are a bargain. Not much info about frames sizes. Looks like they are all disc brake as well.
  8. I would recommend widening your search for brands. Giant is ok, but there a better known brands ( Trek, Specialised, Merida or Bianchi ) that all have hybrid models for 25k THB or less. You should do some internet research to see if there are any bike shops in BKK that sell these brands. I'm sure there would be as these brands are definitely superior to Giant, and well known brands amongst the pro cyclists. Check out Probike web site. They have the 2023 Trek Dual Sport 2 Gen 5 hybrid for 22,500 THB. I didn't check them for the other suggested brands, but that's a starting point if you don't want Giant.
  9. Came across this interesting theory this morning on why Morocco will win the world cup. Is it simply coincidence or perhaps there's actually something to it. Give Me Sport FollowView Profile Football fans are going wild for bizarre theory that suggests Morocco will win the World Cup Story by Sam Torrance • Yesterday 11:47 pm 3 3 Comments A bizarre theory doing the rounds on social media has identified Morocco as the soon-to-be winners of the 2022 World Cup of Qatar. The Northwest African nation have been the shock of the tournament so far after defying all odds to reach the semi-final stage. Drawn in what looked a seriously tough group that contained Belgium, Croatia and Canada, the lesser fancied nation claimed some major scalps and triumphed as group winners. Most notably, they beat Belgium, who were ranked as the second-best international team in the world by FIFA at the time, in style. However, they also conceded just one goal, which came in their 4-1 demolition of Canada. Although the success Morocco experienced in the group stage was expected to end right there, for in the round of 16, they were drawn against Spain. Poor Spain. The European footballing superpower had no idea of the task that lay before them, and Morocco eventually dumped them out of the competition via penalty shootout after a hard-fought encounter. AL RAYYAN, QATAR – DECEMBER 06: Yassine Bounou of Morocco is thrown into the air following the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Round of 16 match between Morocco and Spain at Education City Stadium on December 06, 2022 in Al Rayyan, Qatar. (Photo by Catherine Ivill/Getty Images)© Provided by Give Me Sport Portugal were up next and they too fell at the hands of Morocco. And like every other nation bar Canada, failed to score in the process. So, after all their victories, the team find themselves the first African nation ever to make it to the semi-final stage of a World Cup. Related video: World Cup: Can Morocco shock the world again against France? (Dailymotion) Now, though, one bizarre theory has predicted things to go even further for Walid Regragui and his men. GiveMeSport’s World Cup hub image© Provided by Give Me Sport What is the theory? The theory finds its basis in former Chelsea players and the shirt numbers they wore at the time. Strange? Absolutely, but stick with us. Back in 2010, Juan Mata was donning the number 10 shirt for the Blues whilst representing the Spanish national team. Remember who won the World Cup in 2010? That’s right, Spain. Fast forward four years. Andre Schurrle is a Chelsea player wearing the number 14 at the club. He heads to Rio de Janeiro for the Brazilian World Cup and, yep, Germany wins it. What a coincidence. But then in 2018, Olivier Giroud, now playing for Chelsea rather than Arsenal, wins the World Cup with France whilst using the number 18 at Stamford Bridge prior to the tournament. It really is madness – and the most incredible thing: the current occupier of Chelsea’s number 22 shirt is none other than Morocco’s very own, Hakim Ziyech. Now, we’re not saying it will happen but if it somehow does, then this theory could be even more crazy heading into the 2026 tournament. Over to you, Morocco.
  10. They've pulled the plug on the free tv broadcasts again, so I'm using my vpn to watch via ITV.
  11. you posted the ridiculous comment in the other topic, so don't be so lazy and go find it yourself.
  12. Firstly you're the one who keeps going on about it, not me. I just made a single statement and you keep bringing it up and arguing about it. Secondly I NEVER said I had friends "on here" that kept going on about it. So that's just a further example of your inability to understand what was actually written. Thirdly I just read in another topic, where you got absolutely slammed for making a completely irrelevant comment. It can be implied from that comment that you didn't fully comprehend the topic and thus posted a comment that was absolute rubbbbbish. now go away and try annoying someone else
  13. I've watched every match so bar 3 on free tv so not sure what channels you were trying to watch on, but I posted here on ASEANOW the entire match schedule which included the tv channel the games could be watch on. The 3 games I didn't see were from the nights that TRUE did have a blank screen at game time.
  14. I do have friends on here, and you've just further displayed your absolute stupidity by continuing to write absolute nonsense.
  15. go back and read what I said previously and try your hardest to understand the difference between "here" an "on here". At no point did I ever write anything that indicated that I was referring to people I knew on ASEANNOW. I used teh term "here" which meant where I was located. Basic English on my part, poor education on yours. So go away and stop bothering me with your stupidity.
  16. that response further supports what I said. You need to learn to read things properly and actually understand them before replying
  17. the must be automatic because they were down and the dumb cop tried to drive around the boom gate. You can see that quite clearly in teh video that was on the news on tv.
  18. when are you going to learn to read. I DID NOT say friends I knew on here, I said friends I knew here, meaning in Thailand. You really need to understand what has been written before making such uneducated replies.
  19. over the years, hundreds of them. Even the ones I'm friends with here still go on about it.
  20. WRONG. I am yet to meet an England supporter who doesn't go on about it.
  21. Plenty to do in retirement. I spend a considerable amount of time keeping up to date with my favourite tv series, watch movies, play golf and cycle around 200km per week on average. Basically just chill and enjoy life as it presents itself.
  22. I'm not going on about it, I'm just saying that's what England supporters still do, and the LAST thing the football world wants is for England to win this year as we'll have to put up with their <deleted> for another 60+ years. Perhaps you should learn to read and comprehend before making ridiculous replies like the one you have.
  23. Go back and read the post again, I said if they somehow manage to get past France they wouldn't get past Spain. Your comment only becomes relevant if they fluke a win against France, and even then Morocco would most likely beat them anyway.
  24. Yes I support a particular team at the world cup who actually exceeded the expectations of their supporters. Even the team exceeded their own expectations. I will always support my home team, but I'm realistic when it comes to what they can achieve. My prediction for them for the group stage was 0 wins and 0 goals scored based on the group they were in. They made it out of the group stage by finishing 2nd in their group, so you can see from that how they far exceeded the expectations of their most loyal supporters. As for England, no I don't just support whoever they are playing. The ONLY reason the football world doesn't want England to win is because of the way the supporters will never stop boasting about it. Heavens they still carry on about the 1966 win as though it was yesterday. I have English friends and as soon as the topic of discussion comes to the world cup, they start carrying on about how they won in 1966. The world doesn't want to hear another 60+ years of the <deleted> that England supporters carry on with.
