  1. Nope, the Aussies would beat them to it. Australia is the world's biggest manufacturer of velcro gloves and gumboots.
  2. I just completed this quiz. My Score 80/100 My Time 112 seconds
  3. I'm no genius, but dividing 10M by 12,183 items means the average price per unit is 820 Baht. That makes the fake shampoo a tad expensive for my taste. Not that I've got much hair - a 500ml family bottle will probably see me to the end of my days. Maybe there were a few fake big-ticket items to skew the average price, such as small bottles of designer serum that my missus buys - which I reckon are worth more by weight than gold.
  4. 20-35 klm/h winds. So just a breeze then.
  5. It's the mice we should really be worried about.
  6. Um...I love the logic. We're catching fewer illegal aliens attempting to cross the border, therefore we are reducing the number of illegal aliens crossing the border.
  7. That 90 degree turn might pose some issues.
  8. In this particular Game of Thrones, maybe Harris will be convinced to step back from being nominated in return for a six-month stint as the first trifecta president. It's the only way she will get her name in the history books.
  9. Cheers, I edited my post to reflect that after studying the photo again.
  10. Judging by the damage, I reckon he smacked the back end into the corner of a Thai mattress. But why the back end? Oh wait, this is Thailand
  11. Honey really got the money.
  12. GovTrack.us rated Harris the most liberal Senator in 2019. You may not agree, but it happened. Was Kamala Harris once rated the most liberal US senator? (msn.com) She was also appointed the sole responsibility of border control, but now the liberals are trying to rewrite history and toss this one down the memory hole.
  13. A strike rate of 22 convictions since 2022 and now these 25. I bet there are 47 officials who regret failing to follow the 1/3 for me and 2/3 up the chain rule.
  14. Most personal loans are repaid under what is known as the Rule of 78. This means that the early instalments are predominantly interest, and the later installments are mainly principal. It's been around forever, and always surprises people who don't really understand debt and amortization. Your loan interest and repayment calculation is (600,000 x 15%p.a.) x 6 years, divided by 72 months. Total interest is 540,000 Total Debt is 600,000 plus 540,000 being 1,140,000 Monthly repayments circa 15,833 Could be different if they roll insurance or bank charges on top. Here's a link that may explain it better. Rule of 78: Definition, How Lenders Use It, and Calculation (investopedia.com) EDIT: thought I would add this for clarification. Rule of 78 effectively smooths out the overall debt to make the monthly payment a fixed amount, and more manageable over time. If the loan was standard amortized principal and interest calculation, the first monthly payment would be 8,333 principal and 7,500 interest. The very last payment would be 8,333 principal and 104 interest. If the loan is held to maturity, you really will pay 15%p.a. If the loan is repaid earlier, you will have paid more than 15%. Repay very early, and you will have been financially raped by the bank, but that's banking for you.
  15. The British police are out of control. The once great Peelers have become the enforcement arm of The Uni-Party government and its increasingly powerful Ministries of Truth, Love, Peace, and Plenty. Tommy will forever be a victim of state sanctioned retribution for his thoughtcrimes. "In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act". George Orwell (a.k.a 6079 - Smith W.)
  16. I know you think you've turned off all Accessibility options on your phone, but I suggest you go back and take a second look. Go into Settings->Accessibility. Make sure every option slider is turned off, or set to "None" or "Default. Go into every line on the menu and double check everything. I suspect it is probably a vision enhancement such as high contrast theme or background setting, and the app is not configured to display in an alternative colour setting.
  17. I don't understand the hullabaloo. My centre-ist interpretation of his comment is that by 2028, he expects to have improved the lot of all Americans such that many of those who voted Democrat in 2024 will vote Republican in 2028. Thus, the Replican party will not specifically need the endorsement or vote of any specific faction or group - in this case, Christians. Rhetoric it may be, but it's his opinion, and far from inflammatory. Stay calm, and try to keep your left or right wing confirmation biases in the kitchen junk drawer.
  18. Strong, the cognitive dissonance, this thread contains. Confirmation bias, too, powerful it has become. Open your mind, you must, to see the truth.
  19. Just add the three separate items to your cart, then go to checkout and see what the shipping calculation is. You aren't committed to purchase at that stage. So if the shipping isn't combined, just delete from the cart.
  20. I'll assume this forecast is a measurement of Real GDP, which is adjusted for inflation. Whether analysing previous GDP growth or forecasting future growth, the critical input to the equation is what allowance was made for past or future inflation. This is usually a made-up number that bears no resemblance to reality.
  21. Yep, that's how it works. Just hit the "Cards" option and you'll see where to request the digital card. It only exists as a number, no plastic. It's still a hassle to change all your subscriptions etc if compromised, but at least the plastic card in your wallet remains safe.
  22. Expect a blank look when you ask any climate warrior about Milankovitch cycles, solar wind, solar flares, Solar maximums, and Solar minimums. And I've yet to meet anybody (especially climate nutjobs) who can actually tell me that Co2 constitutes 0.04% of the atmosphere. Biggest scam and money grab since the Praetorian Guard.
  23. If there's one thing that Thais do exceptionally well, it's clipping the ticket...again, and again, and again. It never gets old.
  24. I am registered with Wise in my country. An unauthorised online transaction was attempted by some scammer, and Wise blocked the transaction. I was advised by email and message by Wise. I cancelled the card on the Wise app and requested a new card to be sent to my Thai address - no problems at all. It arrived in three days as I opted to pay about 750 baht for DHL courier, as opposed to free by post. You have to activate the card at an ATM, and then it's good to use as normal across the counter. As an aside, I've also opened a Wise Digital card which I will use for all subscriptions and online purchases from now on. Saves the hassle of getting a new card next time it happens. This was all within the last month.
