  1. This story shows the essential difference between a soldier and a policeman. A soldier is taught to kill, a policeman is (theoretically) trained to subdue, disarm, de-escalate, arrest, etc. I am disgusted with the way this is being turned into a racial incident. If the victim was white the story would not have made international news. Anyone who rides the NYC subway regularly will have witnessed this, and knows there are no ethnic exclusions. I'm not saying he deserved to be killed, but some media outlets are making it sound like he was an innocent passenger singled out by a vigilante patrol. Others, like the NY Post (a Murdoch trash product) are using this to promote racist bilge.
  2. A conductor is not a security guard or LE. He would probably go into his booth and lock himself in. These people were being attacked by crazy guy, not a cute MJ impersonator. I would doubt this as, unless the train was stalled (stopped between stations) or going very slow for some reason, the stations in the NYC subway are not that far apart. Exceptions would be river crossing, but at normal speed these would be less than 10 minutes.
  3. I cannot verify this, it was told to me by someone who claimed it happened to him long ago: if the US Embassy repatriates a citizen they do so with a first-class ticket, and then expect to be reimbursed.
  4. President Biden says his visit to Northern Ireland was to ensure "Brits didn't screw around" Well, at least he didn't say monkeyshines.
  5. Soon we'll be seeing signs like this one in Penang.
  6. "Mr T____ why didn't you say this under oath when you had the chance to put this to rest once and for all?" This question was not asked. He got sued for $5 million for defaming her, next day he goes on television and does it again. That's one way to ensure he'll continually be mentioned in the media.
  7. Might be a little too much pork in the diet for them. I stayed in Penang for a while, Middle Easterners tend to pour in during the summer months. They seem to love McDonalds (which is halal down there).
  8. If you're up for a change of scenery and would like to explore consider Hong Kong. I did this a few times years ago, before Covid and the political craziness. I have no idea what the situation is now. Some cheap flights to Macau, and you can then ferry over to HK. I liked Macau, and I don't gamble.
  9. Great philosopher say: Girl and boy go camping have naughty in tent.
  10. Would that be the "don't say the N-word" brigade or the "don't say gay" brigade?
  11. Ah, but did shoot in someone (maybe) on Fifth Avenue.
  12. There will still be unsettled matters pertaining to his time in office when he goes to his grave.
  13. Trump Claims 'Unconstitutional Silencing' After Choosing Not To Testify In Rape Trial Who could have predicted he would react this way?
  14. 'She's mentally sick!': Transcript shows Trump lobbed insults at E. Jean Carroll while under oath When someone goes off like in the full view of the world they break the bonds of civility -- anything goes. 'Nobody talks like that!' Attorney stunned how Trump incriminated himself in Carroll deposition Let the twice impeached, criminally indicted failure of an ex-president who lost the popular vote each time he ran rave on. Maybe he'll go back to being a department store masher to get his mind off that cement fortress he may be living in next year.
  15. In the time since TC got dumped Megyn Kelly's name has been popping up in the media feeds, coming off just as wacko as in her Fox days. Maybe she's conspiring to re-join Fox? Fox and TC in a feces-slinging match? Bring it on!
  16. Only 40%? Is that accurate? If I had to guess I would think double that, at least. What else do they export besides dates? I met a young Indonesian fellow, in Indonesia, I guess I can call him a renegade Muslim. He was quite cynical of the Hajj, sees it as a way for Saudi to bring in $$$. Never thought of it that way before, I wonder what revenue religious tourism generates. But back to golf: the payoff would be ad revenue, which is what makes soccer (futbal) a cash cow. Maybe the players would be expected to be covered with corporate logos. I can't see lads all over the world getting all excited over watching golf tournaments, though.
  17. Well, it's an improvement. It used to be that an AV program would report another running AV program as a possible virus.
  18. Check out the expressions on MBS 's face and you can tell what he thinks of the guy doing the talking. And don't forget they made him do the sword dance, seems the Saudis save that one for visiting Republicans.
  19. That someone would most definitely include the Republican Party. Mitch McConnell has already said, privately, that he expects the Dems to clean up his tangerine nightmare for him. It looks like DOJ is giving this one its own investigation, instead of adding it to Jack Smith's pile.
  20. So nowadays in Pattaya they think someone is in need of rescue if they eat a . . . oh, nevermind. Well, maybe they are right.
  21. Coronation? Oh, is that the thing Harry was at today?
  22. Let that be a lesson to them why authoritarianism is a bad idea: when authority gives you the shaft you have no path to recourse or justice.
  23. When the heat started to get turned up, Sidney Powell, looney toons/Fox personality that is part of the stolen election initiative, said something to the effect of "there was no reason anyone should have believed what I was saying." Huh?
  24. I did my IRS forms in Firefox recently, but that was on Windows. This may help you: https://knowtechie.com/firefox-now-lets-you-edit-sign-and-draw-on-pdf-files/
