Who Is Really in Charge In Thailand?
OneMoreFarang replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News Headlines
It can obviously only happen if people allow it to happen. If Thai people would demonstrate on the streets, then it wouldn't happen like now. But Thais normally don't do that - unless someone pays them to demonstrate. TiT -

You make the big mistake and think people think and use logic. They don't! After you realize that fact life becomes so much easier here. You don't try to find logic anymore which you just can't find because it was never there. Enjoy! -

There wouldn't be a problem with influencers if nobody would follow them and especially if nobody would believe them. How stupid must someone be to think xyz is good because an influencer got paid to show it somewhere?

Cookware for induction hobs - where to buy and what to buy?

I moved to my new condominium, and I bought a new kitchen and appliances. That's why I have the induction hobs. I think that is the best available technology in the moment. -
Cookware for induction hobs - where to buy and what to buy?

Let's say it like that. If something works fine, then I normally don't replace it. I will make another test, putting maybe 1 liter water in a smaller magnetic pot and look how long it takes before it cooks, and then the same procedure with the big not magnetic pot. Let's see. I don't mind spending a couple of thousand THBs on new pots. But only if the old pots don't work as expected. I.e. I definitely need one or two new small pans because the existing pans (I think it's aluminium) don't work at all on the new hobs. -

Maybe because we have such pots already. I will do some research, but I am pretty sure no energy will be lost every with less efficient pots. Because where should that energy go? The induction field itself does not get hot. Only the pot or pan or whatever on top of that field gets hot. I guess in the next days my gf can use that big pot to cook something, and then she can tell me if it works like on the old electric oven or better or worse. And then we can still decide what we should buy new. -

Cookware for induction hobs - where to buy and what to buy?

I am confused. I have a big stainless-steel pot from Seagull which I bought some time ago in Foodland. It is not magnetic. I tested it with a strong magnet. No reaction at all. So, I thought, just for the fun of it, let's try to warm some water in that pot on my induction hob. And, surprise, the water cooks. Maybe a little slower than with another pot, but still fast enough. So, what is this all about that non-magnetic pots don't work? I also tried what I think is an aluminium pan, and that one doesn't heat at all. -

Single portable are available for cheap. Big powerful units, which need big breakers, are more expensive. As far as I know even the cheap once do the job and are a good introduction to get a feeling about induction. My own summary, which is also similar to what others say on YouTube: It heats extremely fast, a lot faster than anything else. You can adjust the energy input precisely, and the change happens instantly. -

Most stainless steel is not magnetic. Some is. If you need to know the details, google it. -
Intelligent people don't have to be nice people. And some high IQ people have difficulties understanding how stupid those low IQ people can be. In general, I am pretty sure most of my good friends are smart. And in many ways that makes life easier. But I also know a couple of smart people who I don't like and don't want as my friends. And then there are some not so smart people who are nice, and I like to see them. It's nice to be smart. But it sure is not everything.

Cookware for induction hobs - where to buy and what to buy?
OneMoreFarang replied to OneMoreFarang's topic in General Topics
Yesterday I cooked potatoes and I started with the maximum power. It was an amazing sight how fast the water was boiling and the movement in the lower pot (I guess from all that energy inducted into it). I guess the old but working pot which I used yesterday was never designed to absorb so much energy so quickly. -
I only read one page of comments. But it seems everybody here is happy that that guy probably has to leave the country. I don't know him and looking at the picture he doesn't look like a nice guy. But in a way it should scare us that we live in a country where a little problem can escalate into bye bye Thailand in a few days. Who of us behaves all the time always correct? I don't think I ever kicked a Thai person. But I definitely had some bad words for some idiots. And maybe I didn't let that Mercedes pass as the possibly hiso driver demanded. I guess the above event is a reminder to all of us that our lives can change suddenly and dramatically if we are not careful.

The almost funny part about that is the fact that I guess no more visa extension can happen to almost anybody of us. Someone suddenly finds something which wasn't a problem for years, something has to be investigated further before any extension, there is always something which could be used as a reason. I guess if he wants to continue to stay here, it will be expensive. And that obviously doesn't guarantee that no additional problems are found in a few weeks or months. TiT

They look nice. Did you buy them in a shop in Thailand? Where? I see them online, but I would prefer to see them in real before I buy them. Buy Quality Ceramic Non Stick Kitchen Cookware | FIKA by Neflam – Cook with FIKA
