  1. I am pretty sure the following it true. When you get your passport back from the embassy it contains the visa sticker. That sticker has dates valid from and valid until. In my case the from was the date when I received the passport from the embassy and the valid to was 3 months in the future. That is the date range when you have to enter Thailand to use this visa. So in my case I had 3 months time. When you enter Thailand then the 60 days or 90 days start counting. When you are already in Thailand and start working then likely your company will go to immigration to extend your stay to a year. And after that you can get extensions from the immigration in Thailand as long as you work in Thailand. About the address: I live in Thailand since forever and I was in Cambodia only for a few days to apply for the visa. When I applied there, I filled in my current address as my hotel in Cambodia. Because that is where I stayed at that moment. The embassy accepted that.
  2. I read this book a long time ago. Interesting. It seems he was really committed.
  3. Your comment was an inspiration to check the pressure with running water. Before: 3bar Flush the toilet, maybe for 1/2s 2.5bar, then steady back to 3bar. I measured the pressure on a valve which is very near to the toilet water supply. Valves fully open.
  4. Sorry, even if it would be possible, it would be a stupid idea. None of them would be able to understand the current modern world. Just imagine you would take a smartphone from today (including internet infrastructure) back 50 years. People would think you must be using alien technology. Nobody would believe what you can do buy touching a little piece of glass. I guess part of the reason why so many things are crazy in the current world is the fact that technology grew too fast for peoples' minds to adjust. If any politician or celebrity writes something "wrong" on X one evening his/her life might be ruined by the time he wakes up. Would any of your former presidents be able to understand this? No.
  5. All that doesn't change the fact that what many Thais do is a mixture of many believes. If they call it Buddhism that doesn't make it Buddhism.
  6. I think even then the pressure is the same. If it burst, then less water will spill. But I guess you still have enough flow to possibly create flooding.
  7. I just bought this for my washing machine. I guess they use similar hoses: https://www.lazada.co.th/products/i2937286518-s15695534410.html More about that, and much more, in this thread:
  8. Buddhism is still Buddhism. But Thais mix it with lots of other ideas and still call it Buddhism. I remember I read a whole chapter about that in travel book when I arrived in Thailand.
  9. I guess there should be some of them out there who follow Buddhism the way they should.
  10. I think there are many good ideas in the Buddhist philosophy. It's sad what some monks do and it's sad that some people demand such stupid actions.
  11. Massive street protest may happen when it's about something important. If an old corrupt man dies in hospital or at home isn't important. The last election showed us that having the last name Shinawatra is not good enough anymore to win an election. It seems slowly Thais learn that if they vote for corrupt individuals then they end up with a corrupt government. Having said all that, let's look what happens if Thaksin is in the wild again. Will he finally shut his mouth? Or will he continue with his revenge? If it gets too bad, then people can still protest.
  12. I wonder how many people think he is not there without having any evidence. If you have any evidence then please tell us. And you heard Nit telling Noi about it is not good enough.
  13. Or maybe I am well informed but I don't listen to the "experts" which you like. I am sure you will have your favorite influencer who tells you what you like to hear in your bubble.
  14. What would you do if you see that the air quality at your home is bad? Probably you would buy an air purifier. Air purifiers have an air quality meter build in. So maybe skip the step to buy a meter and buy an air purifier. I can recommend the MI brand air purifier for about 4000B.
  15. Thanks for your comment. Have you read the other comments. It seems there are often enough some incidents. What I do now: I bought a 3m water inlet hose and I connect the machine on a valve which is under the sink which I have easy access to. I can close it anytime I want. And I just ordered water sensors for my home automation. If there is a leak then I will be informed right away, also if I am not at home. So worst case I can call the building management to close the water valve outside of my condominium. Is this all necessary? No. But it's a little investment for the peace of mind. And that is a good investment. Aqara Water Immersing Sensor https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001145771136.html
  16. Today I measured the water pressure in my condominium in the 3x floor. 3 bar. I have all new water supply pipes. I am not sure if that makes a difference.
  17. Thanks, I bought them both and received them already. Both are exactly the same and they look sturdy.
  18. There was a time when nobody would have voted for such a person. Times have changed in America, the land of the free and all that.
  19. A long time ago in a cold country far away I saw a movie. In it a guy was wearing moccasins without socks in cold weather. A girl in the movie fancied him and thought that looks very sexy. At that time, I thought, ok, let's try that. And I never wore socks again. In the hindsight I can't confirm that all girls were exited about this. ;)
  20. I know two owners who played with their girls and paid them well. And one manager who didn't pay well, if at all. Other owners and managers who have a wife or gf don't play around in their own bars because they know they can't keep it a secret forever.
  21. In the description is written "Support Mini Computer WOS Pro". I am pretty sure that is not the same as Windows 11 Pro. And that likely means that at least some applications, maybe many, won't work on that system. Maybe this is no problem for you, but you should be aware of that fact. I buy PC (parts) including Intel NUC here: เดสก์ท็อป / ออลอินวัน / มินิพีซี (DESKTOP / ALL IN ONE / MINI PC) (jib.co.th)
